How long b4 park opens do you get to the parking lot?

WDW rookie looking to avoid as many newbie mistakes as possible.

Leaving this Saturday and this questions just popped into my head. I have searched but not found the answers anywhere here nor on mousesavers or NG ADD

I wait in line to enter the parks an hour before the parks open. During our trip, my dh would complain about how earily we would arrive at the parks when we could be sleeping but one time we arrived at the parks when it just opened and he hated the crowd. He complained that we should have been there earlier. You can never please men. LOL
