Seeing as we live so far away from the nearest airport (and even that's small) we don't get to many deals on airfare. So when we go to WDW it has to be for at least 10 days. I can never find a plane ticket for less than $200 so it just makes sense for us to stay longer. Well that and the fact that I couldn't imagine staying only 4-5 days!!!

In the past we have stayed for between 5-7 days. It always seemed like we ran out of time though. This year we stayed for 10, and it seemed like just the perfect amount of time. We did everything we wanted, at our own pace. We were ready to go home at the end. We will always stay for 10 days now.

A combination of factors--being young and dirt poor primarily, but also because I'm a Florida native--usually has me staying three days or less. Long weekends, etc., with day trips on occasion when I'm in the area for other reasons.

Our Honeymoon (which was our first trip together) was 5 days...

Usually when I went with my parents and siblings, it was 4 or 5 days. Wish it was longer, but you know... :confused3

Just for clarifications sake, let's say we're including arrival day and departure day. I'm assuming that everyone who has voted has been including those days as well, but I may be wrong.

Thanks

Shel

Well, I didn't include arrival day... But if I did, this trip (our Honeymoon) would have been 6 days, from a Sunday afternoon arrival to a Friday evening departure.

In January we went for 4 days and it was just too short. Toss in some bad weather and we really felt like we hadn't spent enough time in ANY of the parks. So next month (HA HA! Did you see that? NEXT MONTH!! :teeth: ) we'll spend 8 full days in the parks.

The cost of airfare really makes a difference in our planning, too. We would love to go more often, but over $700 for plane tickets makes it impractical to go more than once a year. In January we had 2 free plane tickets that would have expired before our October trip, so we went for the little four day trip.

Since we live sooo far away, it'll probably take about 12-14 hours just to fly to Orlando and the airfare is usually over $600 rt we are planning for 7 days in WDW. I'd go longer except we will also be visiting relatives in Ohio and Virginia. Living on an island in the middle of the Pacific makes it more difficult to travel since we can't drive to any other state.

Our last trip was nine days total including arrival and departure days. On arrival day we got in early and went to a park that night. On the day we left we had a late flight and went to Downtown Disney that morning for some last minute shopping. The only problem with a late flight in the summer is the possiblity of thunderstorms in the afternoon, which they had on the home end. Our flight ended up being delayed. I loved being there for that long but a bit of advice to those taking a long trip like that, plan the day after you get home for SLEEP. We came home on Weds. and I went to work the next day. I was so exhausted I couldn't see straight.

Its a long way from Maine to Florida and we can only afford to go once every 2 years or once a year at most so we always go for at least 7 days or longer.

Okay, if I go by my own rules, then we are actually going on a 9 day trip including arrival/departure, but we'll skip the parks on those days.

Shel

Normally they are 7 days or more. But this one is only 6. Just hubby and I for a short visit but we should be able to do everything we want in those 6 days since there are only 2 of us.

10 days/9 nights is the norm, including departure/arrival days.

Our first trip we drove and arrived on a Sunday and left on a Friday. NOT enough time. Last trip we flew and stayed Sun-Sun. Almost too much time. By the last day I was ready to go home. Of course maybe it was because it was just me and ds this time and I think we were getting on eachothers nerves by the last day. I just remember thinking to myself please stop talking LOL. Seriously though 7 days was enough to hit each park multiple times and ride everything.

We visit mostly weekends, with one 4-5 day trip per year. This year will be the first that we'll stay 9 days, but we're splitting b/w WDW and Universal (5 nights at WDW & 3 at UO).
