how long are you willing to stand in a line?

1 hour is our max, but only if it's a really busy kind of park day. Otherwise, half and hour is usually acceptable to us.

Typically for me it's about an hour. I'm not huge on waiting in line, but I also completely understand why people do. We go yearly at least if not more so if we miss out on something it's like "Hey, no big deal, we'll see it next time". When the Frozen ride came out last week and the wait times were5 hours it sparked a lot of discussion on this topic. As someone who lives within a day's drive of Disney and goes once a year and has no kids (although I love Frozen!) would I wait five hours? Heck no! BUT after thinking about it for awhile I realized that for a lot of people in that line it might have been their once in a lifetime trip to Disney. If it was my once in a lifetime trip that I'd saved years for, and I had my five year old with me who looked forward to it all trip? I can't say I wouldn't wait for the chance to see their face on that ride, so I bite my tongue about long wait times. :-)

The longest lines I ever stayed in was an hour to see paint the night at curbside - world of color on the bridge Unobstructed and without anyone's cell phone in my face.

Totally worth it as I won't be back to Disneyland anytime soon.

No longer than 30 minutes. My family typically picks good times of the year and knows how to use the fastpass system

30 mins for most rides, but perhaps longer if the line is inside and in the middle of the day versus early morning. Wouldn't want to waste least busy time of the day waiting in the line.

About an hour, maybe a teensy bit more, to ride a roller coaster that's new to me.

Anything else, 30 minutes tops.

20 minutes for me.

I was dining at Teppan Edo the other night, and a girl at the table was checking wait times. She said that Seven Dwarfs Mine Train was up to 240 minutes! Who in the world waits 4 hours for a ride???

I will never understand how people wait in such long lines for rides!
If it's posted under 30, or looks decent, we'll jump in line, but that's it.
Characters however, is a different story for us! We'd usually jump in line around 6 for the 7pm opening of the princess & princes at MNSSHP/MVMCP. And back in the day we were a couple of those who got in A&E's line at 10am for an 11am opening, and didn't get to see them til closer to 12. But we had nothing else to do that early in Epcot, we took turns running for Starbucks and bathroom breaks, so it was fine.

we don't have a max time - we are on vacation - and its not like you have something better to do - its enjoyable just to stand there and chat and chill

DS can't wait in line. He's autistic, and so many people around him is just something he can't deal with.
We got a GAC last time, which transformed our time, and we actually got to try some of even the busy rides.
I hope this time, we can get a DAS for him, too. We can WAIT, but we can't queue. So, the DAS would help us, cos we could wait somewhere else, and go back in time to ride.
Disney was so wonderful with this for us last time. We were literally sitting on a wall in AK CRYING because we couldn't DO anything, and it was all getting worse, and it was meant to be a dream vacation.
I waited over an hr at 6 flags once, but I was taking a group of teens on a camp weekend, and they wanted to wait.

20-30 minutes top. Not waiting in line too long. there is too much to see and do.

Rides - 15 minutes posted is my upper limit when solo. If I'm with a group, 30
Characters/shows - However long it takes. In practice my limit is about an hour for regular shows/appearances, but I am not above waiting longer for special events. I grabbed a spot 2 hours early for the July 3rd fireworks this weekend and it seemed perfectly reasonable to me.

We just spent 17 days at the parks. The longest we waited for anything was 45 minutes to meet/greet Joy and Sadness. The longest ride line we waited in was 27 minutes for FEA...everything else was under 25 minutes, with most being in the 10-15 range.

I would say about 30 minutes tops unless it's an absolute must-do with no FP+ (either not available or doesn't have the option). Since it's usually just me and my boyfriend we mostly go at our own whims, so if a line looks too long we'll just circle back to it later. Sometimes we've gotten in lines that say they're short but turn out not so, but in those cases we just tough it out because "hey, we've waited 40 minutes already, might as well stay on." We don't have a hard and fast rule, but it seems that if its 40+ minutes we skip it and return later.

The longest we've purposely chosen to wait for something in recent memory was the Dwarfs at MVMCP - 1 hour, 58 minutes. Luckily we had very fun families around us in line and were about the 10th/11th group in from the front.

This is one of those fascinating topics that I think is like the questions people ask random surveys - like "Have you ever stolen anything" and the survey reports that 99.9999% report they have never stolen and yet we are told that 1 out of every 3 have stolen something in their life or something like that. I.E. you get the feeling what people say in a survey is not reflective of what they do.

I say that because without vary, almost everyone on the boards will universally answer 20-40 minutes and guarantees that they will never wait over 40. And yet - there are lines that are over 60 / 90/ 120/ MORE. And sometimes the entire dang park is that way. So SOMEONE is waltzing past that line entrance going "hmmm. 120 minutes. That doesn't sound too bad!" and hoping in line. Either none of these people are on DISBoards OR people tend to understate on the board when they do in practice.

As for me? I used to wait about 60-70 minutes. Generally not longer (although I do remember standing in line for space mountain for 2 hours once - but that was 20+ years ago). Now that we are DVC members, we honestly pull fastpasses for anything we care about and anything else better be short or we will just catch it the next time around. However, that's only been the last few years. That said - whats short? I like to see under 30. Is that a hard cutoff? No. 35... sure. 40...? Depends. Longer? what's going on? How tired am I? When did I last see it? Do I care? Who is with me? if it's just DW and I - doubt it. If we are taking a friend and it's a headliner they really should see - I might wait it out.

I can't see doing 120 these days... too old.

30 min is our max and that has to be for one of our favorites. We never had to wait more even in peak says with a good touring plan.
