How Long Are They Going To Not Have Host Pins?

I know we have all wondered in game about the Host pins. Some of us have even complained (myself included). It seems that the people in charge of making and distributing new Host pins to the hosts, have decided we dont want them anymore. We all know it is not the Hosts that are to blame. They cant like having to hear every single event "When are the new Host pins going to be out". If they had them you know they would be handing them out just to shut us up, at least for a little while .. hehe.
Now I can write in to contact us but we all know how easy it will be for them to delete ONE complaint about no host pins. But maybe if we all start complaing they will have a much more difficult time ingoring that fact that we want our Host Pins back. I will send in a polite request each day at dinner time and ask that they return our Host pins. I hope everyone can join me and make VMK realize that Yes we like the pins, Yes we want them back, and No we wont stop complaining till they listen.
It has been so long since we actually had a Host pin I cant remember what the last one we got was. If they dont want to give us Host pins maybe we can suggest a Meet/Greet/Photo time with Yavn twice a week in a host room. Couple days of that and we would be sure to get back regular Host prizes :lmao:

Well, being a pin collector, I am very happy to see the return of a weekend pin (Halloween Sceance last weekend). I actually love its' design too, different. We have a host prize this month, even though it is not a pin, so I am happy with that as well. I don't think the host prize HAS to be a pin, it's just nice to have pins and a host prize back.

I also love me some pins. I kind of do want HOST pins, but once I get 1, I have to get like 14 more :lmao: They're like Pringles. xD

I don't know, I dont really like pins but love building rooms. So im fine with no host pin

Because of the advent of limitless lines, Hosts had to totally restructure their rooms. No longer do we have fun games that can be quite challenging, with a rare prize possible (Host Pin or Candy Cauldron, for example). Because of limitless lines the Hosts had to change their games to teleporter games, which are neither hard nor rewarding. The reason I say they are not rewarding is because you didn't win a game to get the prize, you just happened to choose correctly.

Teleporter games are also not rewarding because they tend to be the majority of "games" these days, thereby flooding the virtual market with whatever prize they are giving. Take, for instance, the Bat Bag. Last year it was quite challening to get a Bat Bag at times. Even by the end of the month, one was lucky if they had a small collection to use for their rooms or trades. Since February, teleporter games have created an over-saturated effect with Host-only prizes. Host pins aren't worth more than weekend pins, Blue Rockers are relatively worthless, and now Bat Bags are going to be worthless as well.

It's not the Hosts fault. It's the fault of limitless lines. Though we all love the VMK FastPass, it has forced the game designers to change the way Host games are run. Why? Because the Team doesn't want to get daily complaints from the 800 people who were in line, but didn't get a chance to "win" a prize. Solution? Dumb down the games and make them extremely easy to win. There was even a point last week when Phinny put bat bags by the winning teleporters so people could actually win. Limitless lines gives you one chance to win/lose and that's it (with the exception of mules, of course).

Is all of this a surprise? No. There have been those of us who knew this was going to happen because of the advent limitless lines. Just think why the Tiki Opens or Grand Californian is so valued...it wasn't that easy to get and therefore there weren't that many in the virtual market.

No Host Pin? Who cares now...they are relatively worthless by the end of the first week of the month anyway. I applaud VMK for just selling pins and not giving them out as prizes.

Well said Goofy. I was thinking, and this is only a theory... Maybe the reason we haven't seen a Host Pin is because they are saving it until the end of the month. They could increase the rarity by limiting the release time. :scratchin

Well, I actually think they are doing their best to make sure some things are not rare. Why else would they make Dreams Items nontradeable until after the month is over? The Green Lightcycle is still nontradeable, in my opinion, because another Tron month is around the corner (Red Pong table), and the Green Lightcycle will be released in a bigger way.

I think the last time they truly limited the release of a Host-only pin was with the Hotel III series pins. What would have been a host-only pin became a Q Button - only pin. Can't oversaturate the market if you can only do so many quests...

Would be truly nice to have a rare Host Pin again, Goofy, but I think it's just wishful thinking. :(

I agree with you that they're getting rid of "rare" in VMK. Look at all the new items that have been released in the last few months... Everything stays on sale for weeks if not months at a time (they still haven't retired the HSM clothes or blue baseball, not sure about cheerleader...). Besides the weekend pins, there haven't been items retiring after a single weekend. I don't think there has been any new item that's had a single-day release so far this whole year. Last year we had several.

Another Tron Moon, eh? Hmm... Yeah, there's that Red Table, and don't forget the Red Costume which was never released....

Wasn't that 5th Hotel Pin Quest available all month? As I recall, with everyone running clones, it's not very rare... plenty of time to take the quest when it's run all month.

Earlier in the month I was in a host room and the host there said that they would be giving out host pins later in this month. I forget whose room it was, I think it was Phinny.

Goofy I do agree that Host pins are non-rare by the end of the first week. I dont know about you but I already had a bunch of bat bags left over from last ear. Being given the same prize again just doesnt wow me at all. I do appriciate it, something is better than nothing. However we like the new 'Wow look what I got!' stuff. VMK could have handled things a bit better imo. They could have made the crates a Host prize and the bat bags prize for mansion. And what about all the other pin series in groups of 5? Each set with it's own Host pin. No some of the newer sets are not as rare but the thing is they are a set with the special bonus could only get from the host pin. So whats the harm in asking politely for the things we like back?

Asking politely and using manners goes a long way. Here's the thing, If we sit by and do nothing then we get nothing. If we ask and get told no then at least we know. But on the chance that this is something not everyone who works at VMK agrees with and we all speak up as a group then maybe we can get our host pins back.

I did just that, I asked politely, reminded them how much we like the pins, thanked them for the bat bags we are getting but reminded them the those of us that were here last year really dont need more of them. I thanked them and left my e-mail addy in case they wanted to reply.

I will continue sending in the same suggestion each day at dinner time. Why dinner time? Bc it is easy for us all to remember to take a moment before or after we eat to send a quick polite note to VMK requesting they return the pins. If we all send a message at around the same time I know they will have a difficult time ignoring the fact.
