How long are the rides..?

Is there anywhere to find approx how long the rides last? I am claustrophobic and not a lover of the motion simulator and it seems like a lot of the rides are ones that make me really nervous... That being said, I really don't want to turn into the "jacket holder" outside while DH and the kids have all the fun without me. We leave tomorrow morning...

So... with the help of Xanax and Bonine, I would like to try to participate, but it would help me tremendously if I knew ahead of time approx how long the ride lasts. That way I can concentrate on that in my head if I start to really not like it.
How long is spiderman?
Simpsons? etc?

I know it sounds ridiculous. I hate that I have this issue, but I've learned that it just is what it is

They are all different but most traditional rides are not long, 3-5 minutes tops. Poiseidons Fury is kind of a show and you go inside a tomb type thing, that is one, if you have claustrophobia you may stay away from. I don't think you'll have a problem with most of the other rides however.

Is Poseidon's Fury a ride? I thought it was just a sit in your seat and watch a show type thing... am I wrong?

It's a walk through show. Lots going on, the rooms seemed very large to me anyway. There was a crowd of people waiting, as you do at Captain EO, etc but it didn't seem claustrophobic, like a plane, car or elevator.

Also, depending on how claustrophobic you are, You might do better on the simulator rides at Universal than you would in the ones at Disney.

Spiderman and Simpsons both have you in vehicles with an open top with the screens actually outside the ride vehicle. (Simpsons would be like a 8 passenger car w/ an open roof looking at a screen similar to Soarin.... Spiderman in a ride vehicle that goes thru a dark-ride w/ screens and scenery all around.)

Since the vehicle isn't completely enclosed (similar to Star Tours), you might have an easier time dealing with it.

I started to feel really claustrophobic in Poseidon's Fury - not in the attraction itself, but waiting to go in, in the tomb like hallways. I was getting pretty close to a panic attack by the time we went in. (Only about 10 min. but seemed like a long time.)

I would say all of the coaster rides seem to be over within a couple of minutes. Some of the water vehicle rides seem to take longer, but in the 5 minute time frame.
Most rides are very much in the open and I dont think would give you that claustrophobic feel, except for the fact you are pinned down to your seat by the security retention bar.

Wow, some of those ride times are way off. Ripsaw Falls is 5 minutes, not 7. Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit is over 2mins, Doctor Doom is only 34 seconds. Storm Force is 2 minutes not 3. Popeye & Blutos is maybe 4 minutes, not 6:45. Spider-Man is 4 minutes, not 7.

Youtube videos are much more accurate than ANYTHING on wikipedia, fwiw.

I was going to mention the same thing. The simulator-style rides at the Universal parks are NOT enclosed vehicles. They're open vehicles, and the rooms they are in are LARGE. You'd have more chance of feeling claustrophobic in most of the Disney dark rides like Snow White.
