Generally, how long after the release date are limited edition pins available for? I am compiling a list of pins that I want to purchase in June, and wanted to know whether or not I should expect to find some of these pins that were released at the beginning of April. For instance, I am looking at a couple of the White Glove pins that came out a few weeks ago...will they be gone by time I get to WDW?

You never know.....there is no rhyme or reason. Some sell out within hours/minutes and others languish waiting to be sold for months. A lot depends on the LE size and the topic of the pin. For example, Figment LE pins normally sell out real fast. Same with some Tinkerbells, Chip and Dale, and Stitch. You just never know. Being geographically challenged, I make my list of pins that have been released since my last visit and then hunt in every shop and try to find them. If I don't, then I have to trade for it.

An interesting sidenote: My last two trips I've been trying to get the High School Musical pin for my neice. It's not LE, but they sell out within hours and can't keep them in the stores! Go figure.

I usually go to DTD my first day as a barometer of what's on the rack but if you're looking for somthing specific that's popular you really have to look around. The two spots where I find LEs last the longest are Island Mercantile in AK and the pin station next to Guest services in MGM, not the one under the hat. daber is right on though, pins like POH barely even make it to the racks when there are LE500pins that whither on the vine and end up at the outlet stores.

Yep- it is all in the eyes of the beholders. Many sell out in a few hours when some that I have thought were adorable linger for a few months on racks. You really never know!:goodvibes

Thanks for all of your quick responses. I will scan through the older LE pins online and keep a lookout for the ones I want.

Oh yes the HSM pin - my niece and nephew are both in a local production - I thought what a perfect gift! We were there in March and tried every place, every day and would hear we had just missed it or rumor was this shop had it - etc etc - I think they seriously underestimated the popularity of that pin!

Good Luck - I would also check the Grand Floridian Gift shop. My DS and I have both had luck there finding pins we were looking for there as - guests who stay there don't seem to be as into pin trading as at other resorts. Last time we stayed at POR I also found some older Villan Pins for a friend - so sometimes even the type of pin may be more abundant in one place than another.

DH and I usually try a couple of different resort gift shops in our travels just to see what's there. and Island Mercantile in AK is also good as previously mentioned. :thumbsup2
