How long ago did you receive your DVC Anniversary cruise card?

I had been reading (here @ DIS) about the DVC 10th anniversary cruise in April but had no idea what everyone was talking about. I've read that the cruise is already booked, etc., etc.

I just got my card in the mail a couple of days ago! Does it really take DVC that long to get ALL of the mail out? Just curious. Thank goodness we can't take advantage of this deal. I sure would have been bummed out if I'd wanted to go only to find it sold out.

Just received mine yesterday. Luckily we already have plans to go later in April, but I would have been VERY disappointed to find it was sold out if I had been interested.

I always learn about DVC- related "news" here on the boards WAY before I receive any mailing or even email. We got our postcard last Saturday (1/26). This gives me just one more reason to be grateful for these boards and all of you wonderfully helpful posters!

We got our cruise postcard well in advance of the sell-out. Don't remember the exact date, but I do recall that DH or I posted a reply to someone here on the boards with some info from the postcard at least a week or so before seeing posts that it was sold out.

In DVC's defense, the mail is still pretty unpredictable since 9/11 and the subsequent anthrax episodes. I do a lot of mail-order shopping, and anything that comes via US Postal service varies greatly in terms of mail time, even lately.

And, FWIW, the info was on the DVC website well in advance of the sellout. Yes, true, that's got a reputation as not being anywhere near as helpful as these boards, but is worth checking out from time to time.

We didn't get ours until yesterday. I don't know why they bothered to mail it out, since it was already booked. We weren't going anyway, but it does seem a waste to send out cards this late in the game. Of course, I knew about it from here, so I'm really not complaining.

I'm still waiting for my invitation to join the "sold out" cruise! Good thing I had one booked already for Jan. Liked it so much, we are taking our kids back in Oct.

I also think DVC should get their mailings out in a more timely fashion. I bet the majority of DVC members don't ever access the Member Site and certainly don't know about boards like this one.

I get the feeling this cruise was not really planned...just put together as an incentive to get DVC'ers to fill it....which they did!

WOW! We just got ours two days and I had NO CLUE it was sold out! This is news to me. I haven't been on the boards in a few months. Glad I am not considering going or I would have been really disappointed!! I wonder if they'll have another offer like this one soon??!!

I'm not sure what day it was, but it was the day after I read on the boards that it was sold out.

It was in the pile of mail waiting for me when I returned from WDW 1/27. Of course by the time I read it, it was sold out.

Several days before we received our postcard, I read here that the cruise was sold out. Oh well... it would have been a nice idea .
