how long after closing?

(Bump! I'm sure someone will have a more accurate answer to this than I do.)

I would think a couple hours at least...by a couple I mean 2? Maybe?

(See, I told you I wouldn't be very specific :rotfl: )

We were only in 2 parks at closing time- Epcot and MK. (in Sept.) We were very slow getting out of MK both nights- unsure of exactly how long after closing but we stayed around for a while both nights. Got ice cream, shopped a little, tried to wait for the bus lines to go down. Epcot had some stores open but only in future world. We watched Illuminations near Germany in World Showcase and had planned on staying around, getting a snack, taking our time. Little did we realize, world showcase shut down while we were watching the show. No stores, no food, nothing. That's why we were only at Epcot 1 time at closing.

How long do the shops stay open after closing at the parks?

Shops "technically" close when the park closes, however, since there're always stragglers and those who just don't want to leave, the shops will remain open - Security makes sweeps of the parks to make sure the park is clear and "hurry" those lolly-gagging out of the park.

Do the CMs a favor and leave as soon as it's practical and do not "hang-around" in the parks after closing.

Horsefeathers!

usually till everyone is out! eventually, they hurry you along. But, I usually lollygag a little bit because i don't like to be in the bottleneck!

It has been my experience that Disney does not 'hurry you along' if it's only 30 mins or so past park closing time. When you stop to consider that you are allowed on/into an attraction if you are in line at park closing, it could be another 15 mins before you get into that attraction, then another period of time on the attraction and then 10-15 mins to get to the park exit.
I have never been spoken to while sitting and enjoying my Mickey bar, on a bench, as others stream out of the park. I usually am on my way out about 25 mins after the park closed.

Disney pays you to be a guest??? How do I get that job??!!!! That's the definition of a 'professional'...one who gets paid.

In fact, I just got back from a trip where Disney gave me some free park tickets,
some nights at the resort, and a small stipend to help cover costs of the trip.

Ooh!! Where do I fax my resume to!! I want to apply!!:goodvibes

Many shops, typically upwards of an hour after park closing time, as guests are leaving for the night.

I'm a professional guest.

:rotfl2: I love that term. I thought there used to be an announcement about the stores staying open for "your shopping convenience" In any event, they have NEVER closed right at "closing" time, or any time before I leave, and I usually shop for a little while after the park "closes."
