How limited is Disney merchandise on ship? Returnable to Disney Store still?

Hello, the last time I cruised it seemed that certain items were "sold out" by the end: certain post cards, magnets, etc.

For a 7 day cruise, do they bring more merchandise on board? Is it still best to do my shopping early on?

If I get home and decide I purchased too much is it still possible to return items to the Disney store?

Of course it is better to shop earlier on the ship...it's not like they will get additional shipments delivered while sailing. They stock based on average sales for that cruise, so I would imagine that they would have more for a 7 day cruise, but I would still shop early...

You cannot return the items to the Disney Store (not Cruise line items)

If you have a problem with something you bought on the cruise you have to contact WDW Merchandise Services at 407-363-6200 to find out how to return it.

I didn't find their selection great. OK, but the Disney Stores in the airport were MUCH more complete - not for DCL merchandise but for general Disney merchandise.

Of course, if you are used to the nearly limitless shopping in the World, the two little stores on the ship are going to seem limiting.

Hmmm it used to be that if you bought Disney items on the cruise (things with Mickey/Minnie etc) you could return them to the Disney Store . . . used to be a cast member so I remember specifically that this was okay.

But if you bought art work or jewlery etc then you could not return it to the store.

It always makes me feel better that if I have a strong case of buyer's remorse I have some possibility of taking it back.

Same holds true in WDW. Can't say that I've ACTUALLY returned much, but the sense that I could makes me feel better!

Cast Member here too--Disney CRUISE items purchased on the ship or Castaway Cay have never been returnable to the stores. WDW merchandise is (but recently there have been some restrictions placed on this) but anything purchased on the ships is not returnable to the stores (something or another about it being duty free.) You can make arrangements to return it through the WDW Merchandise Mail Order department though.
