Just a quick question?
I've been planning our WDW vacation since Jan. 2005
I made our reservations then for ASMovies.
I didn't realize until like a couple months ago, after finding these wonderful boards, that we could request a certain building.
So at that time I called and asked for the Toy Story building.
Does anyone know what my chance are of getting one of these buildings? :confused3
I have noticed that they seem to be very popular.
We will arrive for our first magical experience on June 26.

Thanks for any comments and advise.

I never make requests, although I have asked to change rooms... anyhow I just mean to say this is not first hand advice, but as I understand it room assignments are made about a week (there are threads with more exact # of days here, I know I have read them) in advance at the resort, soyou need to fax your request to the resort around then to have the best chance of getting what you want.

Your requests just need to be made on your reservation. Word is faxes are no longer being acknowledged. It just got to be too much and was duplicative as most people already had their requests noted on their reservation.

Nothing is guaranteed so it would be hard to say what your chances are. A lot of it is chance-who is checking out the day you were checking in, is the resort at capacity, etc.

So, you have done what you can do at this point. Good luck. I hope you get your request.

I've never received the building requests I've asked for. So I stopped asking! When you go to check-in, remind them that you asked for Toy Story, and if you've been assigned a different room, they might try and change it for you. Toy Story is very popular due to it's proximity to the food court and Fantasia pool ... and of course you can't beat the theming!

Good luck!

I put in a request for the Toy Story building when I made my reservation. I didn't have to ask at check in but was prepared to do so. We did get our request granted. I knew there were no quarantees. Next time we are going to stay at Pop and my 5 year old wants the Lady and the Tramp building. Guess we will see how that goes.

Good luck, hope ya get it!

It's not guranteed.. but it's worth to try. We always check in the morning, before 11 am. Most of our request, if not all has always been granted. The room is not always ready, but it is always worth for us to wait, but if we're really not picky, then we will take the one that is ready.
