How late is too late for us to make reservations?

We're planning on an October trip and I keep feeling like I should have already made reservations already. However, we're not entirely sure if DH will be able to get a vacation from work the week we had planned.

How late is too late to make reservations? And has anyone ever made a spur of the moment trip and stayed on-site?

Yeah you can get some really great last minute packages. I usually check with Travelocity, Expedia, and Orbits to see their hotel and flight packages, or even just hotel packages depending on how far you are travelling from. I also get my hopper passeses elsewhere such as getawaytoday.com or AAA and it saves so much money and there are always packages to be had on those travel websites. My friend booked a last minute package around oct and it turned out fine.

It's prob not a big deal with last minute ressies for hotel, etc....it's the ADR's I would worry about. I would go ahead and do those ASAP - you can always call and cancel if the dates change or you can't go.

We've done MANY spur of the moment trips to Disney. We have actually sat there on a Thursday and decided we would fly out to Disney on Friday...so I think that qualifies as a last minute trip. We've stayed on property without a problem, but you just have to be flexible on which resort.

I agree 100%...hotel, not a big deal, meals...big deal! Make the ADR's and cancel if necessary, but at least you have them if you need them.
