We bought the Deluxe APs from Costco that have to be turned into real APs.
We arrive Wed 6/24 about 9pm; DL open til midnight.
Can we go get our APs that late? We have expired APs but less than 1 year out--I think we may not have to retake pics?
Thank you; just hoping to get a little jump on the next morning.

Since you don't need new photos you can just go to Guest Services (to the left of DL gates) and get your new passes there. If you do need or want new photos you'll need to go to the main street bank. They are both open until DL closes so you'll have no trouble.

I don't know if this is accurate or not (we all know that we sometimes get conflicting info from different CM's here and there), but I was told last year when I got my AP that the Bank generally closes about one hour before the park closes. So keep that in mind just in case you do need a new photo. Since it was my first AP, I had to wait in the very long line at the Ticket Booths to pay for it, and then onward to the very long line at the Bank, and this was all in the 7:00 - 8:30 p.m. range, I would say. The whole process took a good while, but again, this was a brand new AP, not a renewal.

That's odd. When we got our first APs we just went to the bank, not the ticket booth. We had park hoppers that we upgraded. Did you not have any tickets but just bought the AP flat out?

What I had were 3 unused one day/one park tickets that were applied to the price of the AP to bring it down - that's how I got my Premium AP for $191.00!!!! So I didn't have an existing Park Hopper to get in with. If I had tried to use one of the one-day tickets, they could not have been applied to the AP price. They had to stay unused, and then they were "viewed as money" by DLR. So that's why I had to go to the ticket booth and not directly to the Bank - I didn't have any ticket/Hopper to get into the park with. But the line was so long at the booth AND at the Bank, it was a tiring ordeal that I would not like to do again, but if I let the AP expire I suppose I will have to deal with Guest Services or the ticket booth in the future in order to get into the park.

Oh, ok. I guess that is a situation that doesn't usually happen. When we went to the bank around 11am in July there was only one person in front of us. In the first few days of Jan, the line at the bank was hours long.

I've heard that the Costco AP vouchers could be turned into proper passes at Guest Services, BUT that the $50 giftcard that comes with them is only stocked at the ticket booths...so I'm not sure yo ucan get out of waiting in line at the ticketbooths entirely.

But I haven't done it, and haven't read every post here or on mouseplanet about it, so I might be wrong.

But the ticketbooths can print it out also, if your pic is still on file (likely), and getting in that late it's not like you're going to encounter epic lines...

You photo is kept on file for 2 years so you can just walk to any open ticket booth and hand over your voucher and ID, they ask if you've had an AP in the last 2 years, you say yes and they print them right there. They also issue you your $50 gift card right there. We did ours at night, DBF and I drove down on a Saturday, we got our vouchers activated around 10 that evening at the booths over on the DTD side, the booths on the Harbor side were closed. It was not a problem at all and we didn't have to wait. We got the girls vouchers activated on a Saturday in Feb, that wasn't a problem either, we just went to the ticket booths again and got them. We decided to upgrade later that weekend so we went to the bank to do that, we did get new photos for free when we upgraded, the CM was nice and offered it to us. Otherwise it's $20 to get a new AP photo taken.

My wife and I got ours around 9:50 at night. I was told at the ticket booth that the AP office stays open as long as the park is open!!!

Last month we just went to Guest Services to exchange the Costco voucher for a 1 day pass. Then went to the bank to get our photo taken. Guest Services gave us the $50 card. The ticket booths can do the same thing but Guest Services usually has a shorter line.

I got my AP on Saturday June 6 at about 5:30 PM (vouchers from Costco, too). There was no line at the ticket booth. While we were getting the gift cards, my DH told me to turn around and there was this huge line behind us. I don't know where they all came from! We did employ the strategy of not getting in the first line we saw, walking past the first couple of ticket booths. Not many were open in the evening. The bank line was also empty. I did notice that it was more crowded in the morning and then got progessively shorter throughout the day. Evening should be a pretty short wait. We were prepared for a long wait but got lucky!

so good to know about the giftcard being available at guest services! I shall adjust my answer. :)

I've been tearing up the house looking for my and DS's expired APs (his "credit cards")! Thought I had to have them in hand to avoid retaking pics. I feel very silly right now :)
Thank you all for the tips. We'll try knocking everything out at the ticket booth!

Here's another question on this upgrading thing. I will have park hoppers. On my birthday I will be there and..how do I get the gift card?..then I take my existing park hopper and gift card to the bank to upgrade DH and myself to AP? We would present the parkhoppers and gift card and pay the difference? is this right? This make take some time.......DD and grandkids may need to go do something for awhile :)

I can help you with the funcard!

Take yourself, your ID, and your ticket to a ticket booth. I highly recommend the Harbor side ticket booths, especially early in the morning. No lines.
