How late have you been for an ADR?

I have frequently had an ADR for, say 7:30 pm, shown up at 6 pm, and gotten seated by 6:30, but, I have never tried it the other way--that is, if you have a 7 am reservation for breakfast and you show up at 7:30 am, will they seat you? We have 7 am reservations for Chef Mickey's and I am worried that we might over sleep?!?!? Has anyone had any experience with this?

Thanks!

We were 20-30 minutes late for a lunch ADR at Garden Grill last year. I did not think that they would seat us, just figured we'd go to the Sunshine Seasons instead, but they did! It was so great, too, b/c we were STARVED and so hot! It was one of my very favorite meals of the trip.

Heh...

Back in Sept, we were late for 3 of our 4 breakfasts (for one reason or another). We were seated for all of them.

Chef Mickey's - 8:15am ADR, we showed up around 8:45am. I underestimated the amount of time it took the girls to get ready ><.

1900 Park Fare - 8:10am ADR, we showed up around 8:50am. Not sure what made us late this time...

CRT - 8:15am ADR, we showed up around 9:10am (got stuck in RD crowd). Long story, but I got us on the wrong bus and we took a detour to AK first, then to the TTC from AK, then via monorail to MK. Of course, I was quite upset that I had ruined the little one's special meal. It worked out though and we didn't have to wait too long (10-15minutes).

Nevertheless, next time, breakfasts will be at 9-9:30 ;)

I believe you have a 15 minute window from your ADR.

I think it depends on the restaurant and how busy they are. We were 20 min late to Boma one night and they would not seat us.

Last year we had DxDP, for 7 days, and almost all TS meals. I think we were late for 90% of them at least.

The worst was Coral Reef: an hour and a half late.

We got seated for all of them, but we noticed a correlation: the later you are, the longer they make you wait (coral reef was well over an hour wait)

But, this wasn't during free dining, and almost all restaurants had availability late at night.

last week we had a ADR for boma and while we were waiting to be seated a family came up a hour late for their ADR and they seated them right away...a few people were pretty mad that they had to still wait and this family got to sit right away after comming so late.I didnt care I got seated right on time.

30 minutes for Turf Club in August. Seated fairly quickly, but did not get our favorite server as requested.

25 minutes late to Chef Mickey's last summer. We were seated quickly and the characters came over right away to greet us.

30 minutes late to Biergarten due to a bus issue. We were still seated- even got their table for 4!

This past August was the first time we were ever late for an ADR -- 30 minutes late for an 8:05 am ADR at CP because no early bus ever came to the resort. They were gracious and did seat us right away b/c they still had an open table.

My advice, though, is to make ADRs for the time you expect to be able to show up for them. Just set yourselves up for a wake-up call that will allow you to get to your ADR on time -- are you staying on-property? You can set the wake-up call automatically on the room phone.

We are staying at SSR--that's a great idea with the phone. I am trying not to run our vacation like a military operation, so I am glad to know that if the kids have trouble getting up, if we show up a few minutes late, they won't be disappointed by being turned away at Chef Mickey's. Thanks for all the advice and info!

I was an hour late for Cape May and an hour late for Afternoon Tea. At Cape May, we were stuck by the monorail for about 45 minutes in really heavy rain. We didn't think they were going to seat us but they did - actually the restaurant was pretty empty I think because of the rain. For tea, we waited and waited for an MK bus but it never showed up. We ended up taking an Epcot bus and then using the monorail get to the GF. They sat us too but there was no one there.

We were 20 or so minutes late for a few of our dining ressies during our trip in September and we were seated a every restaurant - Cap'n Jacks, Cape May cafe(breakfast), and Kouzzina.

We also had a ressie at Ohana for 6:55, but the people we were dining with were running late, REAAALLLY late. They didn't arrive until 8:00. They still seated us but we waited another 20 minutes for a table to open.
