How late can you be for an ADR?

It varies. I wouldn't intentionally be late - they definitely can & will turn you away from busy restaurants. (Then again, we saw a family walk up to Via Napoli, get told it was full, mention they'd missed their ADR by an hour or 90 minutes & get seated immediately. YMMV.)
 
With BoG, it probably depends on the meal. I would think that they'd be more flexible with breakfast or lunch than they would with dinner. Of course, it stays so busy, there might not be much flexibility at all. It's the only restaurant on property that I've witnessed them flat out turn away walk-ups....and I've seen it a bunch.

Disney CMs will make every effort to not have to turn guests away. But BOG is the exception to every unwritten Disney rule. It's a restaurant that is overbooked all day, every day. So it's really unlikely that you could turn a 5pm ADR into a 6pm one simply by telling them you were "running late."

Keep looking for a different time, lots will open up in days/week before. But going into an ADR knowing you intend to be woefully late because you don't like your reservation time is really bad form.
 

There is no set time. They may seat you if you are late, they may turn you away. Don't forget that you are supposed to arrive at least 10 minutes before your ADR time. If you don't like the time you have, then keep checking. Showing up late on purpose is a bad idea, plus if they do turn you away they will also still charge you the no show fees.
 
We were 15 min late to our BOG lunch ressie a few weeks ago and we had no issue at all.
 
We've been pretty late for ADR's in the past when busses never showed up. Never been turned away but we did have to wait sometimes.

They tend to be more understanding when it is partially Disney's fault you are late. I've been at the Kona Cafe when the people in front of us were checking in late. And they were told the only reason thy were being seated is that the monorail had been down, otherwise they would have been out of luck.
 
15 minutes is the difference between loving your ADR time and the time you actually have?

yes, didn't say loving but 15 min later would be better, I will keep trying to adjust time later. Loving this TP ADR finder.

I also try to be extra nice and apologetic. "We're really late, I'm so sorry, our bus never came, is there any way we can still be seated?" And it's never been an issue. With the busses they have no way of verifying that, but I guess they just know the busses are bad lol. I do think if you are nice the CM's are more inclined to try to help you.
 
I know that CM's do what they can to help guests, but if 15 minutes is an issue with an ADR time, and you plan to arrive late to adjust, well, I think you are setting yourself up for a problem. If BOG is already running late, they will not hold your ADR. They may cancel it altogether or place you at the back of a line and your wish will be granted. You will done later. Much later.

I always suggest that folks take a time they can be comfortable with. If your scheduled ADR does not work for you, cancel it and eat someplace else. Deliberately messing around with an ADR to make it more suitable for you places undue stress on CM's who really do everything they can to help a guest, but it also disrupts those people who make and keep their ADR's in good faith.
