How late can we realistically book

DS and GF are thinking of going to WDW in July or August (it has to be then). We have enough points for them to have a studio anywhere for 11 or 12 nights. Now the problem is they're dragging their heels about deciding whether to go or not - how late can I leave it and still be likely to get one?

They would be able to book their flight on a 24 hold before finally commiting so you could tell them to just organise a flight, then call you IMMEDIATELY to try and see what DVC rooms are available. Once you know rooms are OK, they can call back the airline/TA to confirm the flights.


You shouldn't have too much trouble being able to book something, although it may be that you can't book for their entire trip. However if it's their fault for delaying their choice I think they will be grateful if you give them accommodation for most of their stay. You/they can ALWAYS pick up a cheap motel for a couple of nights if there is limited DVC availability.

You've been very kind to make the offer, it's up to them to make a commitment to accept the offer. IMHO if you book something, they don't go and you lose the points or are inconvenienced, you're going to be a bit cross with them. I don't see any point in a kind act causing problems so I'd let them make the next move. All you can do, is do your best once they make up their mind. If they end up missing out on this trip, they may be a bit more prepared to commit/be organised in future trips.

We were finally in Disney's system yesterday and although I still can't book until we close on our 2nd contract which has banked points.

I did ask member services for availabilty of a 2 bed in OKW at the end of August and they said they had loads available so you should be OK on getting in somewhere
