If I want to pick up muffins and such for breakfast the next morning on the way back to GCH from the parks, what places are open and how late?

the bakery on Main Street is open until closing I believe (I know they were open at 11 p.m. when I stopped in to get something for the next morning on my way back)

I know that the ice creams places are open well after DL closing.

But GCH has White Water Snacks, which I'm sure has items like you're thinking of, so as long as someone is willing to run down for food, maybe you don't have to have 12 hour old muffins in the morning! :goodvibes

White water snacks opens at 7am though, so if you are in line at the recommended 6:30am time for the 7am MM you are out of luck!! I have been trying to figure this one out for our summer trip and I too have decided the bakery the night before being placed in the fridge might be the way to go. Either that or the room service breakfasts look good (the menu is on allears.net)

Can you prebook a room service breakfast time or do you have to phone up as soon as you get up?

Yes I was just there and the Blue Ribbon bakery was open until closing time (midnight). We were very annoyed because we went to the La Brea Bakery in Downtown Disney hoping to get coffee and breakfast for our group at 7:15 am thinking that we could get that done before the park opened at 8- but they didn't open till 8! I wasn't willing to waste time in line there waiting for them to open when we wanted to get in the park, I would think they would open early to cater to all of the people arriving to go to the parks, but I guess I was wrong.

La Brea Bakery was open late our last trip. I think we stopped in around 10:30 and grabbed a baked potato, they were supposed to be open until 11:30. The park was closing at 11 that night.

I almost always stop off at Blue Ribbon bakery on my way out at closing- get a tasty treat for the next day (at home) and a coffee for the drive home.

Okay, sometime I eat the muffin on the way home. :rolleyes1

I have read that Whitewater Snacks is not all that conveniently placed. What time does the Hearth Lounge in the GCH open - I think I also read that it serves coffee and pastries in the morning? Anything else served there in the morning?

When we were there a couple weekends ago, both the bakery and the ice cream shop closed a 1/2 hour earlier than the rest of the Main St. Shops. They hung the rope between the bakery and the ice cream shop while we were waiting for our ice cream and there was a CM standing in the ice cream line not letting any one else get in line.

I also heard the CM's behind the counter saying "5 min to go!" When I looked at the clock, it was 11:25p. I can double check when we go again in a couple weekends, but I'd double check when you get there, or make sure you get to the shops before that 1/2 hour mark :)

WWS is about a 2 minute walk from the lobby of the GCH. I have never found it inconvenient, and especially wouldn't if I were to be staying at the GCH! :goodvibes

We ordered groceries from Albertsons-- they deliver to the hotel, and the bell desk holds it for you till you check in. Then we grabbed breakfast in the room (and sometimes took it with us to eat while standing in line). We had milk, juice, yogurt, apples and bananas, pop tarts, and cereal-to-go cups. Worked great and much cheaper than buying it in the parks or on the run.

WWS is great! If you are not doing early entry it's a great choice for breakfast--much more reasonably priced than Storyteller's . . . . warning--the portions are HUGE so you may want to split.

I was thinking about early entry days when WWS wouldn't be open yet - would the Hearth Lounge be open earlier? Out of our 4 park days there are four potential MMs.
