How large are kid's meals?

I have 5 year old twins. Can they share a kid's meal? How big is it? Also can you just get ice water at the Counter Service places?

It really depends...on the item and the kid! DD is an eater (8) and always finished her meal. DS (9) rarely did. Some items I know they couldn;t share, even at 5. The pizza, for instance, at Pop FC is tiny. Do your kids eat sides like grapes, applesauce, fries, pudding, etc (some of the choices offered)? That could plump up a meal, but my ds doesn't like grapes and sometimes that and a cookie were the only sides. Adult CS meals, on the other hand, we almost always too big- you could always share with a child there, too.

Children's meals are quite small. Unless the kids are very light eaters I wouldn't think they could share a kids' meal unless you supplement it with some side dishes or something.

Yes, you can get a cup of ice water at no charge if you ask for one, at any CS.

Well said paintnolish...
There are some items large enough but also many that are almost chincy so tough call. Ans it seems to be more about the item in the meal rather than the location.

But adult meals tend to be well oversized. DW and I quite often will split one, or if not then she almost always splits with one of the DD's.

You can ask for ice water and everywhere we did they were always accomodating

I think most of the kids meals were decent sized, but next yr even though my son will only be 9.............I don't think it will be enough for him. He'll be eating a lot of snacks to make up for it I'm sure

One of my chidlren eats like a bird and we found that most of the kids meals were just enough for her. I do not think that you will have enogh to share especially with the calories that they will be burning at the parks.

We had a childs meal at the flame tree, you may have been able to split that.

I would have preferred it for myself, it was the right portion for an adult!

I agree it would be tough to share. When our older boys were 5 and 6, it would not have been enough for them - even for our picky eater. But it certainly depends on how much your kids usually eat, and how much you plan to supplement with snacks. Ours are always more hungry than usual from all the energy they burn during the day!

You may want to get 2 different kids meals and have them share those so they get some variety. I wouldn't think one kid's meal would be enough for 2 kids to share though. You could have them share an adult meal, or buy some a la cart items to stretch out the meals. Sunshine Seasons would be a great place to do this.

our kids ate like crazy!-- we were in the parks all day though and they were real troopers- Chicken nugget meals seemed to have 5 -6 nuggets, a small cup of fries, bag of grapes, and bag of carrots , and small bottle of water, chocolate milk or soda. Our 2 yr old would eat most of her meal too.

For the most part, the kids' meals are really small. I can remember our whole family laughing at the one my son got at Mama Melrose because it was hardly any food. I doubt if there's enough food for 2. Some of the items are in sealed packages, so you could always take them for snacks if you have left overs.
