I don't know much about this place and never had any desire to check it out, but I happened to glance at their menu today and WOW, I saw so many appealing items! The chilled seafood salad sounds to die for and the chilean sea bass sounds yummy!

I usually tend to skip over places with the word "steakhouse" in the title, because we have a ton of steakhouses back home & I just don't like their general atmosphere of those places (nothing bad-just not my style for a general atmosphere of a restaurant) and we are not huge steak fans.

I'm curious about this place now because the food sounds so good!

Any reviews, opinions on this place, with respect to the food, the specific items i just inquired about, the service, the atmosphere, any special Disney touches, etc...

Thank you!

We loved our meal at the Yachtsmans last Sept. Wonderful service and atmosphere. I was a little worried being a veggie but it was one of my best meals.
DH had the huge Porterhouse for his entree which he enjoyed very much.

It is a signature restaurant and it really shows, its fab!:thumbsup2

I will be booking an ADR for Dec for a meal for myself and DH while the kids are at the Neverland Club.

I would highly recommend it to you.::yes::

Yachtsman is one of our favorite places at WDW, but we go for the steak. In your case, I'd suggest you look into Flying Fish. Don't get me wrong - your meal at Yachtsman will be very good - but you might be more comfortable with the larger selection of non-steak dishes offered at FF.

Our first experience was underwhelming. The apps were really great but our beef was "choice," and it really showed. I'd be hard pressed to spend $40+ on something that was not at least prime. I think Flying Fish would better suit your needs.

Awesome! We went in early April and loved it, there are a ton of pics and reviews in my signature

We just did our big anniversay dinner here the other week. It was our lst time. I did a review on the review board. Lets just say it was very expensive, we even had a dde discount, the atmosphere was loud and noisy. Our server was friendly but seemed overwhelmed by all the tables he was assigned to. We had the lobster bisque. It was a huge portion and I eat slow. Mine was cold by the time I was done. We were give 3 rolls total. The non alcoholic drinks were good, a pina colada and strawberry daquiri. DH had the porterhouse, He liked it but said it had a lot of bone and horseradish mashed potatoes, I had the ribeye and got a baked potatoe. I ordered the green bean side dish. Too aldente and had a dry bacon topping. Basically inedible. I did see someone sending back a fish dish, for what reason I dont know. They seemed to be pushing wine alot etc. We didnt do dessert but there is a showcase on the way in you can look at. All in all I would probably skip it unless its a very special occasion. Tried it once etc.

We usually eat there at least once during our annual trips and the food has never disappointed. If your looking for good seafood w/ a flair try the Flying Fish on the Boardwalk across the lake, just as wonderful.

The Yachtsman is an excellent place to eat. The Yachtsman Filet Mignon just metls in your mouth...mmm Try the Lobster Bisque to start with...very good.

The YSH is the only TS restaurant in WDW we won't return to again. We have tried it twice - no more.
It is a beautiful restaurant. The service was excellent. The food was just not good. We were 3 adults and we had 3 different entrees. None of us could eat our dinners. They were way to highly spiced. I was looking forward to this, even though DH was hesitant to go a second time after first bad experience. I won't make that mistake again.
Have a Great Trip

It's a TS2credit restaurant on the DDP. The interior is beautiful. Everyone loved their meal. Great place for steak and the desserts there are awesome. Would definitely recommend it. ::yes::

I have eaten there several times and enjoyed every experience. We have always had wonderful service. Both my DH and I had the chilean sea bass this past March, and it was delish:goodvibes . I also had a salad made of all tomatos (sp?) and it was really good. If you want the sea bass, I don't think you will be disappointed.

Goodluck with your decision.

We had an EXCELLENT meal there in August. We are not fish eaters so I could not comment on the items you mentioned.

This was my FAVORITE restaurant we tried last fall. Service was beyond excellent and the food was absolutely perfect.

The Yachtsman has a great view of stormalong bay. The food is freshly prepared daily, we have always had a great meal there. We were just there 2weeks ago and will be there again in early July. Their steaks have always been prepared as requested and their desserts are awesome.

Have a great time!

We absolutely LOVE it!!!! It is a place we go to every visit!!!!! It is well worth the 2 credits if you are on the dining plan. Go and enjoy!

We've dined there three times with excellent results. Have booked it again for December. :)
