How is WiFi working in the parks currently?

as the question says! Any bandwidth issues? Hoping to keep data use down while using MDE

I actually thought it was worse this year than last year. Last year I remember I saved up all of my data for when we went and used next to nothing because the WiFi was good. This year I did not save up and now I am getting close to my limit with still 9 days to go in my billing cycle.

Coverage isn't equal everywhere - you'll have better signal on Main Street than you will in the depths of the Space Mountain queue.

On average, you won't be watching Netflix in HD or Facetiming with all your friends, but it works well enough (most of the time) for access to MDX and for basic social media. The more crowded the parks are, the more likely it is that the load on the network will be very high.

It's honestly faster using data usually, but what I tend to do is connect to their WiFi, and if loading a page is taking a while, I turn it off, load the page, and turn it back on once I'm done. That said, WiFi is pretty spotty there at times, but it has gotten better since it was first rolled out in the parks a few years ago.

it was not that bad last time we were there

but I can see it being a bit slow because of the amount of people all connect to it

I've never had issue with their wifi outside of using MDE. Their wifi has always worked great for anything you want to do. Facebook, Internet browsing, even watching NFL games while in line. But when it comes to MDE, I use data for it. Only explanation is with so many people on it on the same wifi connection, it bogs it down. Very rare I get the wait times to load (and this is an issue I've experienced for more than a year) while on the wifi, but get off the wifi and it loads just fine.

As others have indicated, coverage is spotty although you'll get a signal almost everywhere in the parks. However, there are also a lot of people using it so expect it to be slow (almost non-responsive) at times. Wondering what the latest Pokemon craze is doing to the WDW wifi system.

I'm in crystal palace. I've had very little problems in any of the 4 parks in the last week. Very pleased for wifi that is free and has to cover such a large area.

The wifi is throttled. Don't expect it to be blazing fast. If you decided to try and spend your entire lunch streaming Netflix you'll be booted off. For MDE a quick FBook update and checking your email it is more than sufficient.

I find MDE performance to be very variable while connected to Park and Hotel WiFi... but not always sure it is the WiFi or performance of the MDE app and servers. I try not to do much else on the Internet while I am at WDW. Hotel WiFi is great during the day when everyone is out at the parks but slow in the morning before they leave and again in the evening when they return.

I usually find it to be decent/good enough - though the area between peter pan and IASW is kind of a dead zone. Also trying to book a 4th FP while in line can be a challenge as sometimes it isn't great in the queues.

I've always found the wifi in the parks works great for me. All I really use is MDE and posting an occasional picture on Facebook.

when I read the question space motion line came to mind I never get Wifi in that line but main street all the time. like others have said as long as you just want to get on things like MDX Facebook snapchat extra you should be fine if it is not working some place ( space montian line) wait until you are out of the ride/ line and try again. for the most part you will not have that many problems unless you want to watch youtube video in HD then that is a different story also one carrier or another may have better service

Anyone with experience with the wifi this August?

It's been the same as always. The wifi works fine unless your deep inside a building (like pirates of the Caribbean) and sometimes MDE loads slow since everyone in the park is on it on the same connection
