In all the years we have been going to Disney we have never eaten there. We know on our last night, we want to go back to the MK and i thought this might be a good dining place. Can you suggest anything else or is this going to be okay (it gets some pretty bad reviews around here!)

Ive heard bad things too, but I still booked an ADR for this coming April. I will let you know how my experience was when I get back. Im planning on doing a full dining review in the dining review section on all food. Ill be there April 18th-April 25th.

We recently had lunch here and I thought they had good options for a lighter lunch. I got chicken caesar salad and DH got a flatbread. Much better than greasy burgers and fries you get at other places. We thought the food was good. It was quiet, cool, and somewhat dimly lit inside which made for a relaxing break in the day.

I'm curious about Tony's as well, as I made a late lunch ADR for our trip this summer. After reading some reviews that weren't so hot, I'm second guessing it too and made a late morning ressie at CP, thinking I'll choose one of them and cancel the other.

The lunch menu at Tony's does look better than the dinner menu, with addtions such as baked ziti. Can it really be that bad?:confused3

Would love to hear what others have to say on Tony's as well. We have a dinner ADR here for our April trip. I have also read mixed reviews, but figured this was something different than all of the other ADR's we have and thought it might be worth a shot!

Tony's is decent. I live near NYC and go to dinner in Little Italy pretty often, and i'm Italian, so i'm kind of critical of Italian food (just the words Olive Garden make me angry LOL) and even I think it's not a bad place to get a meal. You can get a good dish of pasta there. It is not going to blow your mind, but it's not bad.

The thing I love about Tony's is the atmosphere and location. It's a pretty restaurant and it's just lovely dining in the front of the Magic Kingdom.

That said, we aren't going on our next trip in April because there are a lot of places we love more and just don't have the time. Like I said it's a decent meal, but there are better places for your money.

As for other suggestions, we love Crystal Palace and can't wait for our dinner there next month. I'm basing this on the fact that you'll be in the MK. If you are willing to go to a nearby resort, we also love 1900 Park Fare and are going on our first night, can't wait for that either.

Hope that helped!:wizard:

I've eaten at Tony's twice and really have enjoyed it - I guess I hadn't read the bad reviews....:rolleyes1 albeit I have had lunch both times.

My husband and I ate lunch there our last day of our first trip before we "hit the road" and found that we were really full - the portion sizes were bigger than we expected and the food was really good quality.

My step-daughter and I ate here this past January for lunch - she had a caesar salad with chicken and I had the veal parmigiana - we share back and forth and were really pleased with the atmosphere and the food. :lovestruc

We had a late lunch there last fall. I would never say it was bad. It's basic italian fare. I had the spaghetti with meatballs. DBF had the chicken parmesean. He did have his first creme brulee there and loved it! I had the tiramisu and enjoyed that too.
I wouldn't go out of my way to eat there again but, I would go again if the other options weren't available.

We went for dinner and November and thought it was really good. My husband and I both had some kind of shrimp scampi with pasta that was really good. My daughter did not like the meatballs though. We enjoyed the bread and the gelato very much!!!!

We ate there this past August and everyone seemed to enjoy it. We have some really picky eaters, so it was good to find a place that we all seemed to like. If you like basic Italian, you should be fine.

We went 2 years ago for a lunch with a last minute reservation and was pleased. In our opinion most of the table service food (exceptions - specialty dining) have the same quality of food.

Tony's was Disney quality, location great, noise level peaceful (compared to others) and menu had vary.

I always suggest - check out the menu and read good/bad reviews.

Enjoy!

We ate dinner there on Friday night and were pleasantly surprised. The service was good, the food was good, and we loved the pleasant atmosphere and escape from the craziness of the crowds. I always take reviews on here with a grain of salt. It's nice to try new places and decide for myself if I like them or not.

I hate to be a downer :sad2:.
We had my birthday dinner at Tony's in June. It was really not good. I had the shrimp scampi and it was swimming in oil and had no flavor. DH had the spaghetti and meatballs and it was terrible. Dh can eat (and does eat:rolleyes:) just about anything and he wouldn't eat this. The red sauce was terrible and the meatballs had a terrible texture...sort of like :cat: food. Kids both had salads. They were shredded lettuce that was drowning in terrible dressing. They had pasta with sauce on the side and they did eat that.
The food was just really bad. :sad2:

Ate there in Nov. 2008 for lunch. Food was very good. Nice location right in the park at MK. In 2009, we didn't return to Tony's only because we wanted to try new places. Liberty Tree Tavern lunch was very good - liked the desserts. But Crystal Palace is my favorite restaurant at MK -- the food there is best and a very nice variety at lunch and dinner. The cold salads, carved meats, and salmon at CP are all excellent.

We've eaten there twice and enjoyed it both times. The lunch portions are huge and big enough for two adults to share and the desserts are yummy!

We really enjoy Tony's. It's one of our "must-do's". Good service, great atmosphere, and we really enjoyed the food as well.

We had lunch there 2 weeks ago. The service was really good and the food was fine.

We had dinner there in Nov and thought it was terrible! The only thing we liked were the garlic rolls. The pasta is not made fresh (same thing at Tutto). It took less than 5 minutes from the time we ordered until our food was on the table. We felt very, very rushed. Would not eat here again.

There are a bunch of restaurants at the Contemporary or Poly you could try and I've also heard good things about The Plaza and Crystal Palace's dinner. The Wave is on my must try list for next time. We had an ADR there in Nov, but had to cancel. Wish we had canceled Tony's instead!

We went this past October before MNSSHP. The place was pretty dead at 5:00 PM, so we were seated immediately. The food was good, the service was great and the atmosphere was lovely-we sat in the artium overlooking the front of the park. You can read my full review in my post below.

We love Tony's and it has become our tradition since the girls were young to have our first meal there and now we also do our last meal there :cloud9:
