How is Tony's?

I had read MANY bad reviews for Tony's before my last trip and I decided I wanted to try it anyway for my birthday meal last September. I won't be returning. I wouldn't say the food was BAD, but nothing enjoyable about the meal IMO.

I was sad because I thought I'd enjoy it more and instead I started wishing I listened to the DIS and went elsewhere for my birthday. BUT with that said I still always go with my gut and take food reviews with a grain of salt. I am a big fan of Cape May while I read many bad reviews about them . lol

We've eaten in many resturants in WDW, but never Tony's. How is it? I'm interested for our next trip.(if I can get an ADR at this point).

:laundy: Me :happytv: DH pirate: DS

Of the several ADR's we had our fav was Tony's.
When we arrived in POFQ I asked them to suggest one more ADR and they said have to try Tony's...they checked and said we are lucky to get in...like I said...of the several we had this was the best. :goodvibes

Tony's was the only restaurant I insisted on this trip. I made other suggestions but I told my aunt all I really cared about was going to Tony's. I love Lady and the Tramp! I can't wait to get there.

Despite all of the bad reviews, we've never had a bad meal at Tony's. We have two ADR's setup for our next trip in November. One for lunch, and one for dinner. I would give it a try! :wizard: pirate: :goodvibes

it's interesting to see the good reviews, We ate there a number of times in the late 90's and the food was very good. We ate there a couple of times since 2000, the last time in 2002 and it got worse each time. The quality of food was horrible. I'm thinking maybe give it a try again in October - maybe lunch...

Great atmosphere!
Ate here with my dad, he had his dwesert first for some reason, but it was great all the same!
I am a big pasta lover and the lady and tramp pictures were great

We went last year and it was wonderful. I had the calamari for an appetizer and the steak for dinner. It is a must do for our upcoming trip in August:goodvibes The service was the best that I had at any of the restaurants. Can't wait to go back!

We went there before MNSSHP last October. It was 'okay'. We did have a bit of a wait beyond our ADR time but they did seat us on the balcony. We shared an entree bcs we weren't starving. I don't know if that resulted in our mediocre service or not(we were planning on tipping a proper amount for serving 2 people). Honestly, I don't recall what we ate but I do recall the iffy service.

It was a hoot sitting on the balcony watching people come in for the party. SEVERAL parties came in the MK through the right tunnel, veered right away from the crowds and behind the tree thinking this afforded them some privacy to change into their costumes. I guess they didn't realize they were still in full view to all of us on the balcony.

I miss Breakfast at Tony's! I wish they would bring it back. Lady & Tramp waffles. Frittatas. Omelets. Sausage. One of our family traditions that went by the wayside. We do not enjoy lunch/dinner nearly as much as we enjoyed breakfast.

Me too! Do you remember when Disney offered little standing Mickey statues of butter at their TS restaurants? I remember this specifically at Tony's and loved it.

Great for lunch. We've eaten here every trip. Once for dinner but didn't really care for it. Lunch is good. We request to sit on the "patio" when we check in (it's the fully AC glass enclosed area closest to Main St. We like to people watch! :) ). The sandwiches are great!

I have a question about the patio...we will be eating at Tony's for the first time this fall, and I'm planning to request a patio table. (I'm hoping to catch Spectro while we're eating!) Is the patio always fully enclosed or is only seasonally? It seems like I remember reading on the Dis that it was an open air patio.

I am REALLY hoping for enclosed though. If anyone knows if it is always enclosed or not, please let me know. We will be there in late September, in case that makes a seasonal difference. Also, pictures would be awesome if you have some! Thanks in advance! :goodvibes

It is fully enclosed :). Also has AC/ceiling fans during the summer. It has a great open feeling to it.

When we were there in October, the patio was open.

What do you mean by open - not enclosed?????? I am so hoping for enclosed. We are seeing Spectro FOUR times during our trip b/c it is our favorite thing. I think this will be so a cool way to experience the parade, and I am really hoping for protection from the love bugs and heat! :rotfl:

Yes, as in 'not enclosed'. We were there the 3rd week of Oct- the temp on the patio at 6PM was fine. I don't recall whether they had fans. We never saw any lovebugs- guessing we missed the 'season'. I'd hazard a guess that if there were a lot of bugs, the plexi. would go up.

HTH!
