How is this possible?

We're looking to book the week of Thanksgiving 2008. I keep waiting for the packages (as does everyone else here), but I figured I'd book the room only. I called in July to do this, shortly after the 499 day window, and I keep calling back. We had planned on staying at the GF. There is nothing but suites available for over Thanksgiving! Same with the Poly. How is that possible? They keep telling me a convention has them booked. Can they let them book up the whole regular room hotel rooms at both resorts? I booked Boardwalk for now just to have something, but it bothers me that I'm not able to just make my plans. I hope that when packages open there should be something for one of those two resorts. I have been going here for years, and never had this problem. Has anyone heard of this happening before?

Now I am getting nervous! We have to make reservations for 11 people, but we want to stay at Pop. We were waiting for the rates to come out!
