How is this acceptable FP+ lovers?

If nothing else, this thread should be bookmarked as an example of how one group likes to disparage another.

There's another thread on the front page right now that is very much the same way disparaging those who do not like FP+.

It's my understanding that the only people who can come back any time are the ones who had FP+ reservations during the time the ride was down...which in this case seems to be earlier this morning/afternoon prior to 2pm eastern. That line could be people whose FP+ window encompassed the 2:00-2:30 time period (so those with 1:00-2:00pm, 1:05-2:05, 1:10-2:10, etc). Those people wouldn't have the option to come back any time, because the ride wasn't down during their window.

I hadn't considered those who have no choice, but if the ride was down for 2 hours, then this line is most likely a combination of people coming back to ride who had fp+ times during the breakdown and those who don't have a choice, right? So, if you're coming back and you can ride anytime, why get in that line?

Just a question that puzzles me, changes nothing really.

But again, this is not a picture perfect example of what's wrong with fp+.

Well, it's just a picture. What was the deal? Did the ride break down, did the computers go down, did someone in line have a problem and they had to call paramedics or something, what? The picture doesn't mean anything with regards to what it is being used to show (that the line is that long because of FP+). I have been there a few times since FP+ and have never seen either of the lines that long. On Wednesday night I walked onto it.

Touring plans twitter account also shows btmrr is a standby walk on - wonder if fp+ lovers get the credit for that one? ;)

Maybe the title of the thread should be changed to... is this acceptable to anyone.

Seriously, why do people with a fp+ get in that line???? If they can come back anytime, why would you stop and say, yeah- this is a great time to go ahead and use that?

I saw that and it was during the afternoon parade.

Try again.

My simple point is look at the unintended consequences that FP+ has wrought. That is simply bad show, and after a year of FP+ they have not got it figured out. I have video of Space Mountain from a year ago with a similar cluster.

And that poster was ripped to shreds as a result of it. I don't see the type of responses here that thread got.

Exactly, and I don't condone or engage in that either.

If the OP wanted to be more civil, he could have chosen a much different tone for presenting this picture. But, instead he chose to be "in your face" confrontational about it.

Since when is calling somebody a "lover" a disparaging remark?

I'm a Chicago Bears lover.

I'm a Disney lover.

I'm pretty sure it's anyone who got the FP cancellation notice..and sicne it has been down a lot this week...that may have been a larger than normal window..everyone up until 3 or 4 fo r example.

Anyway..this is more of a ride issue than a FP+ issue IMO

I don't see this thread as the same. The other thread implied people were liars or incompetent. This thread implies nothing negative about those who like FP+.

I'm not saying I agree with the title here, but nothing written in this OP is rude in the way that the other post was. If this OP had been equally rude as the other post was, I (for one) would have responded the same way. It wasn't.

Exactly- fp+ isn't responsible for the short line nor is it responsible for the long line. How is it an unintended consequence of fp+? I'm surprised you still cling to that notion.

Of course it does- just the use of the term "lovers" is meant negatively and we both know it. It's ok with you if anyone who complains about any facet of fp+ be labeled a "hater"?

There's just a little bit of difference between love and hate.

You are out there if you think FP+ doesn't cause long lines at the FP+ entrance.

Added with the incredulous question of how is this acceptable??? C'mon, it was meant to goad at the very least.

Yep. That dude entered the room with a chainsaw and basically dared everyone to disagree. Why didn't we just get in the running CAR? ;)

At least I know now that FP+ has conclusively solved the problem of people clustering around FP entrances.

Out there? What does that mean? Doesn't matter- it wasn't to blame in this case.

yes, but since we don't know the circumstances in play at the time the photo was taken, we cannot accept the photo as evidence that the line for Pirates is that long consistently because of FP+.

The ride was down for a couple of hours according to what people have posted. We do know the reason for the most part.

I agree with you.

And if it adds anything to the conversation, while I was at the Animal Kingdom a few days ago, the FP+ line for the safari was huge. But the line never stopped moving, and we were on in under 10 minutes. Pictures can be deceiving, or at least not tell the whole story.

If the ride was down for an extended period and is now up, of course there are going to be more guests lining up to get on. They will move through eventually, and probably more quickly since they will work to get the FP people through. No big thing, don't see anything unacceptable about it. Rides break sometimes.
