Hey everyone, my wife and I are arriving Saturday for a week at Disney for our 10 year anniversary. I looked at the 10 day forecast and every day it says thunderstorms. I have never been in July and was wondering what to expect. Are there just brief 20 minute storms multiple times through the day or is the rain more sustained? Thanks!

It will be hot. It rains pretty much every day in the summer, but typically a late afternoon deluge/thunderstorm. It pays to wait them out because many people don't and the parks will feel empty after an hour-long rainstorm. Duck into a show or eat a meal.

The daily forecast anywhere in Florida from late May through September will show afternoon thunderstorms pretty much every day, that's just the way it is,it gets hot into the 90's and sometimes upper 90's and the heat just brings in the storms.I'm down in Miami and we had one of the driest Junes ever, and June is usually the rainiest month,it rained but about 1/3 of the normal rain we get in June.Orlando also had a dry June the early part of the month but from reports I've read there were plenty of storms the latter part of the month. The typical day will start sunny and hot and around 1-3pm you'll see the dark clouds form, after that the storms will come they could be brief or last a couple of hours, the majority of them will be gone by 6pm or so but you can expect rain anytime.

We were there last week and it was in the mid-90s. The daily thunderstorms lasted hours on some days, from the mid-afternoon into the evening. Some nights there were great lightning shows. I looked at the radar and the storms just seemed to sit on top of Orlando instead of moving along like in the past. It was strange. YMMV.

I am here now and have been here since June 20. It's been extremely hot everyday. It's rained in the afternoon maybe every other day. Last night there was a huge thunderstorm. But it's definitely hot!

The real feel temp today was 100 something s brief storm and was a lot cooler after that around 4pm. The night was nice around 80 slight breeze. Just be prepared it's extremely hot with a thunderstorm just about every day but that's Florida.. Enjoy and have a great time.

I love hearing live reports of the weather....Any more?...Also whats it saying on the local Tv for weather next week?

Pretty much for the next 3 months the weather forecast will not change: Hot, storms, and really hot.

Everyone else has hit the nail on the head. Hot. Humid. Afternoon thunderstorms. We get this weather for a while. The thunderstorms can be pretty good at times, though they typically do not last long. Temps without heat index through the weekend are 95, 93, 93 with chances of rain ranging from 50% and 40%.

It's pretty hot here right now with little to no wind to speak of where we live in Dr. Phillips. Probably 10 minutes from Disney property.

We're here now it is HOT! Be prepared, drink plenty of fluids, grab some shade where you can and don't forget your sunscreen! Enjoy your trip!

Does it usually rain everyday around the same time and about what time would that be? Thanks!

Here's an idea of what a summer rainstorm is like at Disney World.

I suggest you get an app such as the weather channel app that has radar on it and (beta) alerts when rain is imminent in your area. If you see rain coming, head quickly to a place you can wait it out and still have some fun.

Thanks! Can you tell we are in California! We forgot what rain looks like!...

Therefore, please forget my complete ignorance but are the rides dried off after it rains? We were planning to do jungle cruise and carpets around 7 after dinner??

We're here now, have been here for 10 days now. It's going to be hot, every day will be 100+ with the "Real Feel". Though humidity hasn't been too bad so far, about 50-60% so far, which is pretty norm for where we come from (even lower than what we're typically used to in summer). About 4-5 is the absolute worst time for heat/humidity. There has been no consistency whatsoever to the storms. A couple days in a row the storms started around 4 and lasted a few hours. A few days we had not a single drop of rain. A couple days the storms were around noon, but very brief. And now two nights in a row, we've had storms starting in the late evening lasting a good couple hours or more. In fact, we just had a blast of thunder so strong it vibrated the wall I'm leaning against in our house, lol.
