How is the water at the campground?

Having never stayed at FW I was just wondering how the water is at the campsites. Is there an odor or rust in the water? We are going to be at FW next weekend for the first time and didn't know if I needed to get a water filter for our TT. We won't be drinking the water just for use in the TT.

Thanks in advance,
Chris

We stayed there in '05, and will again in '07, and I don't recall any smell, or rust for that matter. I have a pre-filter on my water line so if there was a problem I might not have noticed it, but I don't think so.

I personally don't like the taste of the water at FW. We have a Brita filter on the kitchen faucet in the camper and use that for drinking and coffee. It does the trick.

My suggestion is to bring your own water or make sure you have a filter for water you will be drinking.

Go to the big mart store and buy the 20oz bottles of drinking water. If you make your own coffee they also sell gallon jugs of water. The 20oz bottles are great to have around the RV and if you freeze them you can take them to the parks.

I agree with the others, we always pack our drinking water and water to brew coffee and iced tea. Our camper has an in-line filter, but Florida water does not taste good. Water for bathing etc. is fine.

Well, daddyscooltv, your ID says your from Zephyrhills. We always bring your hometown water in bottles!!!! :thumbsup2

But really, FW's water is not like a lot of state parks around here. As others pointed out, it is still Fl water and I use a filter in the hose and have a built in under the sink. That's good enough for me, but the rest of the family prefers bottled :sunny:

Yep we will definitely be bringing the hometown Zephyrhills bottled water to drink. I picked up one of those inline water filters today at camping world for the shower and sink to wash dishes in.

Thanks, for all your help!!

We bring those Zephyrhills water jugs also, only thing is I fill them up will our Charlotte County tap water. Not all Fl. water has a bad taste.

We usually bring bottled water for our coffee and tea at the popup and then the smaller bottles for keeping in the ice chest. Do the same if at the local state parks.

We just left the cabins on Aug. 5, and I used the water everyday for coffee.....never had a problem.... no bad smell or anything...don't worry, it's Florida! :thumbsup2
