I was talking with my sister today and she mentioned she would like to get some Sushi while we are at WDW. I looked at the two places I could remember that had Sushi CG and Tempura Kiku. Nothing on the Tempura Kiku menu really interests me so I was thinking CG. Is the sushi good at CG or does anyone have any other reccomendations??

It's great. As I remember it, it's not really a la carte, but you pick from samplers. The chef, at least a year or so ago, however, was willing to go off menu and give you whatever you want. There are some seats looking into the kitchen, and some have reported that if you're enthusiastic about the sushi, they'll make stuff up for you right there on the spot. Like everything, though, that's probably made its way to a guidebook or something and so maybe isn't done anymore.

Regarding the sushi, we were just at CG (read CG review from yesterday). My DS and DBIL both had sushi as an appetizer. I probably should have noted this in the dining review, but being from the NY Metro area, both said that it was as close to Nobu in Manhattan as they have ever had.....

As I am not a sushi eater I cannot personally say. :confused3

Have a great trip!!! :sunny:

We'll be at CG in . I'm a sushi novice but I'm adventurous. What would you experts recommend??

Wolfgang Puck's Cafe also has some great sushi. We are actually doing both Puck's and CG on our trip in September and my husband will have sushi at both places.

Lisa,

My daughter had Yoshi's Deluxe Sushi Platter in December. She loved it; said everything was excellent. It was large enough to be considered an entree.

:confused3 I was wondering which is better CG Or Kimono's for sushi i know that many japanese tourist tend to go to kimono's for karaoke and was wondering it that might mean the sushi is as good there :confused3

The Spicy Sampler was out of this world! It was the best meal I had all week long! I would have rather sent my main dish back and just eaten more sushi!

Thanks for all the great reports! Looks like I will be adding California Grill to our ADRs.

We go to Kimono's all the time. Talking to a Japanese family one time, they said that Kimono's has a great reputation in Japan.

I have been to Nobu in NYC, Las Vegas, Miami, and London, as well as Matsuhisa (his flagship restaurant in LA). California Grill's sushi is nothing like Matushisa-san's. My last few experiences there have gotten worse and worse. On my most recent visit there, I ordered a spicy tuna roll which was bland and almost flavorless.

From my experience, Wolfgang Puck's sushi is much better (nothing close to Matsuhisa or even Nobu).

We have ADR's at CG and I want to try sushi for the first time. I don't want to eat anything raw though, so can someone tell me the name of the sushi made w/o the fish? Thanks!
