How is the stay at Swan or Dolphin?

The prices at the S/D are a lot cheaper then the moderates at Disney for the dates I need. Love to stay at Beach Club...it is almost $500 a night or the Poly. How is the transportation to MK...is it direct or does it stop at other hotels? Do they have EMH from S/D? How is the pool area does it get crowded like the Poly pool or can you find a chair? Thanks

Have stayed at S/D many times. The bus does stop at other hotel at least the last time I was there. It goes to the YC,BC S/D. I thinit does have EMH. I remember getting our bracelets at the consierge desk. As for the pools there are two the big ones on the property one is like a gratto it has a waterfall and you can rent floats for the kids. There is a lap pool at the D and a quiet pool at the swan. It can get crowded especially in the late afternoon when people return from the parks. It may be hard to find a chair then. FYI: If you have AAA, teacher, goverment worker, etc you can get typically additional discounts...I always use my AAA for discounts when staying here.

I have stayed both at the Swan and Dolphin, and really like both of these hotels. You can definitely get some great deals, and I agree if I want a fast trip down I will always look at these first before booking a value or moderate resort.

The grotto pool is phenomenal, and the times I have visited it has always been pretty empty. I mean maybe about 20 people or so in such a large pool area. Not sure when your traveling down and the type of season when you go. I love being able to either take the boat or walk over to both Disney Hollywood Studios and Epcot. I have never taken the bus and usually rent a car for going other places so not sure if they share with other resorts. Many disney guests find the resort to not have that disney feel, but I really liked it regardless.

NOTE: The boat going over to Epcot usually stops at Yacht/Beach Club, then Boardwalk then over to Epcot. This expands your opportunities quite a bit if you want to eat in any of those areas. Not that its a huge walk anyways, probably only 5 minutes to the boardwalk, and 10 minutes to both beach/yach club or epcot.

It might depend on whem you are going, but we have only stayed at the Swan during the Easter and Christmas holidays. We didn't share busses with anyone else but the Dolphin. Bus transportation was excellent! You do get EMH and free parking privileges. Even though the resort has been sold out over the Easter break, the main pool complex is so huge that crowds have not been anywhere close to an issue. Last Easter, for example, our kids did one pool break day, and the pool was almost to empty. It was in the low/mid 80's and sunny!
