How is the San Angel Inn?

San Angel Inn was the first Disney restaurant me and my boyfriend ever went to together, so it's kind of special to us While I wouldn't say the food is absolutely spectacular, we got a frozen strawberry margartia (minus the alcohol) and it was fantastic! The atmosphere is one of the main draws for me. It's absolutely beautiful - especially if you get a table next to the water. The dim lighting makes it a bit hard to read the menu, but it does make for a more romantic setting

We really enjoy it there. I usually order the Chicken Mole Poblano, it's one of my favorite Mexican dishes. The setting is really nice for adults and kids.

It is my husband, my mother's and my absolute favorite. The atmosphere can't be beat. My husband and I absolutely love the Mole Poblano from the dinner menu, and the Tortilla Soup. Their Margaritas are pretty good too. I've seen several people give it bad reviews, and I think it is because if you are expecting typical Tex Mex like enchiladas, burritos, and tacos you won't find those there. However, it is closing for renovations in May for an unspecified period of time. We're pretty worried that they may be completely changing the restaurant and that our beloved Mole Poblano may disappear.

I'm worried about that, too. I got a dinner ADR there the day before it closes, just in case this is our last chance.

San Angel get alot of mixed reviews, but I enjoy eating there. The food is probably average, but the atmosphere is great.

This is my favorite restaurant at Disney - not for the food, but the atmosphere..... This the first restaurant I went to after setting foot on Disney for the first time, so it is special to me and I always make a beeline to it whenever I arrive. The food is definately lacking.... last time I went I could really communicate with the waiter - he didn't speak english and just kept saying "Si" for everything. We didn't get anything that we actually ordered, but it was good anyway. All part of the ambiance I guess..... If you speak spanish, you'll be fine! LOL

I'm so glad that you took a pic of the vegetarian menu! I wasn't even planning to eat there this time around, being a vegetarian now, and I figured even the refried beans were made in a meat broth, so after reading and seeing your pics, we have put San Angel back on the list!

We did lunch there in Oct and DH really like it, I did too but DH cannot wait to go back there and try dinner! We were lucky enough to get a table by the water, it was such a nice relaxing meal! Even tho the chips are Tostitos they were nice and hot and even tho the salsa was probably the jar type it was nice and cold!

It use to be one of my favourite restaurants but on our last visit in January, we didn't really care for the food - the food was warm and it seemed to be lacking some flavour. Plus, there was a price increase and the quality (which wasn't the same as we had remembered anyway) no longer matched the prices they were charging.

On the plus side, the service was still good. Our server came by regularly to check on us and to make sure our drinks were refilled.

It is driving me crazy to not know when it will re-open? I wish they would publish dates like they do for most refurbishments. We are hoping to go in Dec. and as vauge as Disney is being I am worried it won't be open even then! I called Disney and asked the CM and she gave me the standard "no further information at this time" answer!

San Angel Inn was exceptional for us. It was on the top of my list to return in the Fall... Now I see they will be renovated.. (much to my surprise and disappointment)... I really hope they will re-open before our trip. My luck it will be the day after we leave. I'm going to have to keep my eyes on this one. We loved the mariachi band too.

It is a a nice restaurant. It is very loud and there are a lot of tables close together. It is dark too. I love the ceviche and the fish. Delish

I really enjoy the vegetarian combination plate there. I don't know if it's authentic or not, but it tastes good to me
