How is the food at Whispering Canyon??

We ate there for the first time this past December and loved it. No grease in sight! You can have a good time even if your server isn't the liveliest one if you enjoy watching other people have a good time. We were cracking up over some of the antics. We will be eating there again this trip...as we're staying at WL! I'd say, go for it.:thumbsup2

We LOVE WC dinner. We have always had a great time and had fun servers. My son gets the biggest kick about the ketchup transporting. :thumbsup2 Its a must do for us every time we go.

Having said that, we were not impressed with the breakfast as much and probably wont go back for that.

We ate there last trip. DH likes the food. It was ok for me. After all of the hype (ask for ketchup, etc)...there wasn't any type of fun atmosphere.? We asked for ketchup...twice...and they looked at us like we were crazy and brought a bottle to our table.

DH wants to go back this trip, but if I'm going to pay OOP for a TS meal..I would prefer trying something else.

I would normally rate whispering canyon high but this last December when we went the food was really terrible. Meats where chewy and dry and staff were just not at all into the showmanship of the place. Hopefully when you go it will be better. For me I think I'll skip them next trip.

My husband and I stay at Wilderness Lodge every trip and love the food at Whispering Canyon. We ate there for my bday last year and when they came to sing happy birthday to me, they brought me a cupcake and before they got done singing they grabbed the cupcake out from under me and ate it! It was so funny. :goodvibes

There are two restaurants at Disney that we will NEVER go back to: Hollywood & Vine and Whispering Canyon Cafe.

Terrible service, rude hostess and horrible food (DH got sick on the meat in the skillet -- the onloy thing I didn't eat because the rest of the food was disgusting and I gave up). We had a 5:15 ADR; we were seated at almost 5:45 and were there for over two hours and never ordered dessert.

I make no secret of my disdain for the "antics" of WCC. Its my own little personal hell. As to the quality of the food - I've had bad to mostly harmless, but rarely good. I take my BBQ seriously and WCC is way too greasy.

I would make the trip from the MK over to WCC to have dinner. The food I will admit is not great (few are at WDW); however, I would call it good. If you like bbq then it's worth going to. If not, the steak is pretty good as well. The atmosphere is a lot of fun, and the resort is spectacular just to walk around. In short, is it one of my top 5 at WDW?, no. But I would put it in my top 10 above some DIS favorites like Boma and Le'Cellier. :goodvibes

We went in September 2010 and loved it. It is in our top 10 restaurants at WDW, and we plan on taking my parents there next year.

We didn't find the hostess or waitstaff rude nor the food greasy. That said, if you want a quiet evening, I would go elsewhere. If you want fun and don't mind silliness, then I would go to WCC. Not Joe's Crab Shack or Dick's Last Resort silliness, but Disney goofy fun.
