We have never been to this TS but am thinking about going to it on our upcoming trip. This dinner has the princesses, right? How is the food? I really don't like german food. Do they have some american choices? Thanks, Linda

We ate there last month. The food was really good, and there was a good variety of choices. There were plenty of non-German choices. Off the top of my head, there were plenty of different salads, pork, potato, different vegetables.

The princesses are at Akershus in Norway.

The food at Biergarten is awesome. It's more Americanized that typical German food. They have chicken, beef and pork in addition to sausages and salads. The pretzel bread is pretty good. My favorite is the german potato salad. There's also hot dogs and mac and cheese in the kids area. Last time we were there a guy sitting at our table ate a whole total of 4 mini hot dogs. That's a lot of money for some dogs.

Biergarten is the only reason I get dh to keep going back to WDW:rotfl2: He talks about it at least once a week. Even my daughter...who only likes very bland foods...LOVES Biergarten.

There are, however, no characters at the Biergarten. There is a band and everyone..mostly children...can get up and dance.

I avoided it for years because, after traveling in Germany, I wasn't really thrilled with the food. We finally tried Biergarten this year, and I was pleasantly surprised. As another poster said, it was very Americanized and the food was great.

Biergarten does not have princesses - Akershus (Norway) has princesses.

Don't know about Akershus - I don't do princess meals - but Biergarten has roast chicken, carved roast pork, roasted potatoes and mac and cheese.

All of us love the Biergarten. It is the only TS restaurant that we do almost every time we come to WDW.

Same here. I absolutely love Biergarten and we always try to eat there. There is so much food there that I think basically everyone can find something that they like. There are a ton of different salads, including just regular salad, tomato salad, cucumber salad, beet salad, macaroni salad, potato salad, etc. They have a lot of hot foods too including schnitzel, spaetzle, roast chicken, pork, salmon, potatoes, glazed carrots and more. My favorite part is the potato leek soup and pretzel bread- to die for! They also have many delicious desserts. I love watching the oompah band perform and the restaurant itself is really neat.

Us too! The atmosphere is neat, the band and polka is fun, and the food is in my opinion great and everyone in my family likes something. I like the veggies and rotisserie chicken, DH and DS like the meat, and DD the mac and cheese and pretzel bread. It's good food and it's fun, nice to have both!:goodvibes

Just ate there last week and everyone in the family loved it, especially DH and our 3 year old DS. The potato leek soup really hit the spot on a chilly day and the bavarian cheesecake was to die for! This will definitely be on our must eat list for our next trip.

We have eaten there years ago. i think ,for lunch. We will go again for dinner this time in July. My only problem with this place is the seating. we will be a party of 2 and i'm not so keen on sitting with people i don't know. i sure wish they would change this. I think its a crap shoot that we will be seated with friendly diners. Although i have no problem with not conversing with strangers,i really have no interest in that kind of interaction.

Me, my DH and our 2 boys love the food and the band. The seating is very difficult though ( for some) I am very friendly and outgoing...but it makes my younger son who has autism a bit uncomfortable. We have worked it out that we ask for a table up against a railing, and he sits there to see the show. Mom and Dad get to sit next to our table mates. I agree most people do not want to eat dinner with strangers:sad2:

Biergarten is yummy! My whole family enjoys it.

In the event that you were aiming for a princess meal, the food at Akershus is very good too, a little more exotic, but not much.

Both are family favorites for my family.

No princesses, as others have said, but GREAT food, and a really fun atmosphere, IMO.

Our family really enjoys pretty much every aspect of the German pavilion, and the Biergarten is kind of the pinnacle of that, LOL. Good food, good times, and German beer? How can you go wrong! :thumbsup2
