How is the DVC Christmas Tree pass going?

We arrived on the 16th and checkd in around noon. My CM immediately noted that I had a package when she pulled up my ressie. Our room wasnt ready until 3pm so I picked the tree up later that evening, no problem! The tree is beautiful 41\2 FT prelit. We put lights on the balcony to match and we love coming home to our studio all lit up! Thank you for the wonderful tree and I will do my best to ensure the next family receives it, as we have extended our stay at VWL. The streamers from the opening ceremony were great touch (and we put them on the tree) as were the candy canes, notes, and packing supplies. You guys are truly magical and my Ds's anxiety about being away for Christmas is now excitement!

WDWSTAR please call me. I am at DisneyQuest and cant access pm's or your #! -Crystal

I just got the VWL postcard, too, and I do plan to respond to the survey and mention my experiences with bell services (as well as my villa being very dusty!!) I hope WDWStar is able to enjoy her tree!!!

Send a copy of the survey to the top guy at WDW. Things sometimes get interesting when an enquiry comes down from the top. like a reprimand or firing.

Ok, It sounds like next time we should drop the trees off at the CM front desk instead of the bellhopdesk like they did last year and had no problems.

thank you for all the feedback, it sure helps for planning next year,

we have left many things with bellhop service and came back days later to get them, maybe christmas time is overwhelmimg for them.

LIFERBABE i will call you either tonight or tomorrow when i get to VWL, cant wait ! How is the crowds there ? :cloud9: :flower1: :flower:

i will have my laptop with so i can check in and let you all know what happen to the first VWL tree.

Liferbabe-
How long have you extended your trip for? We'll be at VWL 12/26 and I know Trey would like to hook up with your boys.

WDWSTAR- Thanks again for all the work you've put into the tree pass! I'm so excited about having a tree in our studio, I hope we can find it ok.

We got VWL tree #4 on 12/7 and had it until Dec 10, when we checked out. LIFERBABE, that must have been you who got it next. Went to the front desk to pick up the tree with no problem, CM seemed excited about it, same at the return.

We are the ones who added the streamers from the opening ceremony at MK, and we loved having the tree in our room. It was our first trip to WDW for the holidays. I had arranged during our August trip for my dad to be the Veteran of the Day (he's a WW2 Navy Veteran) on Pearl Harbor Day at the MK. It was an unbelievably wonderful experience for him. After the holidays I need to write Disney and thank them for this. (Any ideas who I would address this to?)

The tree just added a special touch to a truly magical trip. Thank you, WDWSTAR for organizing it, and to whomever brought down the tree.

We had VWL Tree #3 and it was delivered as scheduled by the bellhop and we put it up immediately and it was such a nice festive touch to the room...thanks to these boards we also thought ahead to bring lights to put up on the balcony windows and we bought a tiny tree with 50 lights from SuperTarget when we arrived (we checked in on the 1st and weren't scheduled for the tree until the 5th) so our room was so wonderful and Christmassy! I really hope the tree made it to the next people on the list - DH left it with the bellhop who delivered it to us, but I don't think they were supposed to check in until the 17th or so and we left on the 8th...

It is by my DD-6 's bed, in the livingroom.

Very nice touch. I'll post picture of it when I get back home, probably this weekend....

I'm glad to hear most of the trees are finding their way to people's rooms smoothly! The 1st SSR tree (or maybe it was the 2nd?) was MIA when I went to go get it on 12/11... The person at the front desk looked for about 5 minutes, and didn't find anything. I couldn't check back on 12/12, but checked again on 12/13.....still no luck! (And that cast member also checked for about 5 minutes.)

Hopefully the family after me had better luck!! After reading some of the other comments on here, it sounds like some of the front desk cast members weren't too successful/helpful in finding the tree box....maybe that's what happened to me.

Thanks again for arranging all of this, Sue! :flower1:

BCV Tree is now waiting for the next person, at the Beach Club Bell Hop.

Thanks, WDWSTAR

We are off today to the BWV. I will post when we return on Monday how the tree pickup went.

Thanks again!

Jody

Hi!

We made it home to Dayton to lots of snow and ice and no luggage at all, so I don't know offhand which trees we had, but EVERYTHING went smoothly. In SSR, Cassandra at checkin found and gave us the tree. It's a beatiful tree and it's picture has been posted above in this thread. Tom returned it to bell services on Sunday before we checked out. There was a wonderful Hallmark ornament enclosed for each and every member who passed the tree on.

At the BWV the tree we had was delivered within the 1/2 hour time limit bell service promised on Sunday the 19th. This tree came with chocolate bear goodies and a notepad to write our memories in. Each family had a named ornament on the tree. We had lights to decorate with and an extension cord was included. SUPERB!

There were envelopes for postage money contributions and directions for the tree passings in both boxes and by golly, it worked for us! Thank you wdwstar for organizing this. I'm sad to hear that there have been glitches.

How I feel about all this white stuff, is another story altogether!!

Bobbi :D

:cool1: Glad to hear all went well with the BWV tree! I am glad you enjoyed the chocolates! Off to our family party, of course I am way behind :earseek:

Sorry to hear that :( I dropped the tree off at 10:00 am on the 11th at bell services. I also got a postcard from the next family on the list, so it was found. There was an gift for each family for magicalmcwho from SSR Tree # 2. PM me with you address and Ill send it your way, if it makes it back to me with the tree.

OKW Tree 1 should be making its way to the last of the list of six. I was first. I personally handed it to DIS'ers number 2 on list. Wondering how it went since then. Merry Christmas one and all!!

Stephanie we check out of VWL on the 26th, but we are headed to SSR until the first. Please do look us up as the boys will be thrilled.

I passed the VWL Tree #4 on today. Im sure they received it because when I took it to GS the next family had already inquired about it and he was expecting it. He asked "Is this the tree?" So I am glad that #4 will complete it's rounds and return home.

Im at DQ son still no pm's but we are really enjoying our stay at VWL.

VMS thank you for the streamers! They really looked pretty on the tree!

We had VWL Tree #3 and everything went smoothly. The tree was at Guest Services, and I think that worked out better than having it at the Bell Stand. Thank you to Bompy 213 for donating such a cute tree! And everything was so well organized! The instructions and envelopes, the sheets with the families names and dates-thanks for all of your hard work! Slk537-yes we got the tree! The family that was in between yours and mine cancelled so the tree was at Guest Services for a while but it was fine. And thanks for the scented air fresheners! The only sad thing was that I was unable to leave the little wrapped presents I had brought to put under the tree for the next family. There was no way to ship them back with the tree in the box. I hope that Northwoods got the tree safely after we returned it on the 23rd. THANK YOU WDWSTAR for organizing this! It was great to have a bit of Christmas with us in our villa! My DD loved having the tree in the living area where she slept and used the lights on the tree as her nightlight every night!

CLC Tiger Pom Mom :cheer2:

Paula H - I'm sorry that you didn't have the tree for your stay. They did find it for us when we checked in. When I called for our luggage I told them that we should have a tree. They did call back and said that they couldn't find it and I told them what name it should have on the paper and they did find the box. WDWSTAR I hope that you received the tree alright. Thank you so much for setting this up for all of us.

Thanks for posting the picture, Goldi. I forgot to take one when we had it set up.
