How Is Rose & Crown?

I am looking into other Epcot meals taking the place of Le Cellier. I am planning on Akershus for one of my meals but I was looking into Rose & Crown for dinner. Anyone have any comments?

We loved Rose and Crown when we first tried it last year. Very relaxing atmosphere and good food. Especially the bangers and mash!

We really enjoyed it last Thanksgiving. The mushroom appetizer was delish as was the lamb and barley soup. We had a traditional Thanksgiving meal, rather than the regular menu, but we were very pleased, and eat outdoors overlooking the lagoon if possible.

I have always had a great meal at the R&C. I really like the atmosphere there; I don't feel crowded there even when it is busy.

There's been some recent reviews on the board that indicated they may be slowly moving away from their strictly English fare and into more generic food choices. Check the Dining Reviews board or do a search and you should yield results. We're partial to at least one meal at Biergarten. I'd suggest trying that to see if it becomes a "must eat" on your trip like it does ours. WDW here we come June 15

its crapppppp..gone down hill all the way..didnt even go the last 2 trips..just horrid..im not kidding..under cooked fish ..not much for the $$$ and its not cheap/...donnt waist your money or trip time there..im not kidding,,

We have always had very good meals there...go for the English fare instead of the more generic dishes....the mushroom appetizer and the fruit and cheese plate are to die for....the Stilton cheese is the best this side of the Atlantic! If it is not too hot when you go dining on the terrace by the lagoon is very nice. All in all a relaxing place for EPCOT dining.

Oh wow. Now I am not sure what is crap to you. I am used to Disneyland food... late 70's through the 90's now that is some bad eats.

We've always loved the Rose & Crown and make a point of eating there every trip. However, I ate there solo May 12th and was very disappointed. The cheese/fruit appetizer changed. It no longer had the green or the striped cheese on it, only two apple slices, and very few grapes. I tried the new pork loin with barley and mushroms. It was VERY dry and the barley only had two tiny mushroom bits in it. I also tried the new fresh fruit scone and while the strawberries and blueberries in it were very good, the scone itself was again VERY dry. I didn't finish any of the courses, they were so bad. Again this is from someone who always recommends the Rose and Crown as a good place to eat.

We were very excited to go over Christmas. We had our great seat for Illuminations and had to leave. My mom cannot eat garlic. She gets very sick. Every other restaraunt was able to accomodate her dietery needs. In fact, alomost always, the chef came out to speak with her personally. However at R&C there was not a complete meal she could eat without garlic. Apparently, they use a seasoning that includes garlic, in just about every food they serve and the fodd is pre-seasoned. Meaning they are not cooking it to order.

DBF and I made an ADR for Rose & Crown for our December trip. I've been hearing mixed reviews lately about R&C. DBF really wants to go there this trip, so we're going to give it a try. Hopefully we won't be disappointed.
