How is Pat O'Brien's?

Those of you who venture of to the WDW theme parks boards may know me as the DIS resident Jellyrolls addict (hehe), but I love piano bars in general.

Has anyone been to Pat O'Brien's? How is it? I know it won't be Jellyrolls, but is it worth checking out?

It's smaller than Jelly Rolls, and feels more intimate somehow. On the flip side, tables are packed together more tightly, and for what it's worth, I feel more uncomfortable as a solo there than at JRs. While you'll hear 90% the same songs at either, Pat O's tends to be a bit raunchier (although not to the level of Howl at the Moon), while the guys at JRs are a bit more likely to know an obscure song you haven't heard in years. Drink prices are a lot more reasonable at Pat O's.

If you're going, be sure to stop by Rising Star across the way. Another fun place, even if you're not going to sing.

Pats is no Jellyrolls - they tend to "cheat" by having their laptops beside them for songs they don't know, they very rarely sing entire songs and the repetoire is about 1/2 that of the Jellyrolls guys. It isn't horrible but I don't find it worth paying admissions to get into the piano bar. We prefer to enjoy drinks out on the courtyard. Hopefully your free night is a Tuesday - Pat's has 2-fer-Tuesdays for just about all drinks until 10pm. No souvenir glasses but do you really want to have to cart the glass home?

Thanks for the info, Pammy. My night is a Thursday. I'm not really a drinker (most I would have is one or two anyways).
