Have asked a similiar question on another thread, and was told that MK in the past couple of years on New Years Eve ( Dec 31 ) was closed to ALL guests around 10 am because the park was filled to capacity. Even if you had reservations for a restuarant, you were turned away and lost your reservations.
Epcot and MGM, and AK might be different. What I was told was to stick with one park that day, get there as early as possible, plan to stay all day, expect huge crowds and don't try park hopping cause you might be left out in the cold.
I went to MK for NYE 2005 into 2006. I had a 9am ADR at Ohana and arrived at the MK after 10 in the morning. They were still letting people in that late. However,it was nutso crowded. If I didn't have my GAC,I wouldn't have gone on any rides.
