Any feedback on how a 4month old is during February. We are looking to just do a long weekend, plenty of helpers with our two DD's. Thoughts and comments appreciated.

 :hyper:

i'm taking my 3 month old next week. my only big concern is minimising the amount of STUFF we are hauling around. we will have a car and our own stroller, but i want everything to fit easily under the stroller, cause its hard work toting loads of bags.

other thing i am doing is bringing a sling for when you have to leave the strollers (quite often)

with our 7 week old. we're bringing our stroller, carseat & a sling too. I've been using my ellaroo wrap and hugabub for 2 weeks now and she loves it. I think the trip should be pretty much the same as us being at home and on the go.
i'll post when we return to give you a heads up!

We took a 3 month old in March one year. It was fine - actually easy since they still sleep a lot at that age and don't want/need to get out of the stroller. Take a light blanket to cover the stroller if it's sunny as you're not supposed to use sunscreen at that age. And take more diapers than you think you'll need - better to be safe than sorry! We have cute pix of Mickey holding DD and his big hands are bigger than she is! Have fun!

We brought our 4 month old to WDW in Feb year before last. I was not prepared for how cold it would be and only had light weight blankets. That was our only problem. He pretty much lived in the front pack (Baby Bjorn is a beautiful thing!) I fed him on some of the rides--nursing very discreetly. And he slept on and off varied with looking about simply amazed. Since we have taken kids at 1.5, 2.3. 4, 5, and 6, I have decided that the baby was the easiest one. (Though all ages have their merits! Ranging from Joy and wonder to self sufficiency.) You will have a wonderful time. And if the baby is your only one, your life is much more flexible if he/she will sleep in a stroller or front pack/sling. YOu can stay out late while baby sleeps! By the way, bring your own stroller. Those plastic jobbies do not work for the little ones.

Or better yet, rent one from A Baby's Best Friend. They are the greatest!

Thank you for the feedback, I appreciate it.

a 4 month old is a breeze. My trip this summer we had our 4 month old, 4 year old, 8 year old and 11 year old. lots and lots of fun. We also went when the 4 year old was 4 months old and we got a huge kick out of how interested they both seemed in Small World. Now when he was 2 that was a different story after the third day we had to get one of those armband things and keep it on him :(

Were heading down soon with our 4 month old DD, and have gotten tons of great suggestions of how to handle things while there.

We are still struggling with which stroller to bring. We have what we call our shopping cart (a cart w/ basket that the infant car seat snaps into - baby trends), a regular umbrella stroller, and our 3 wheel jogging stroller that has a basket and that the car seat snaps into.

I've ruled out the jogging stroller just due to size, even if it would be the best all around - if we were driving down, I'd consider it more. I think we are going to bring the other two, so we can experiment to see which is best.

Be sure to check out the other post listing the Baby Centers - we feel these are going to be the biggest help to us.

This link contained great information about the centers.

I'll be sure to post our report of how things went after our trip for you.

Keep in mind that your "shopping cart" may be difficult to fold up to get on the tram or bus. If your umbrella stroller reclines and has a basket for storage, you may want to take that one instead. Also, since you're flying, remember to take it up to the gate and check it there so you'll have it as soon as you get off and you won't have to carry the baby down to baggage claim. Just remember to recheck it if you have a connecting flight. We didn't do that once and our stroller didn't get to Orlando. We won't make that mistake again!
