I have a few questions about Liberty Tree Tavern. First, do you sit with people you don't know? Second, can anyone eat mac & cheese or is it just for kids? Third, does it take longer than a buffet does? Fourth, are the characters just there for the show or can you get pics and autographs from them? Would a four year old like this better than a character buffet?

1. No
2. Anyone
3. No
4. Pics and autographs
5. No different. Sometimes we like family style better because you don't have to worry about getting in line for the buffet and missing the characters.

Ditto GatorLady's answers. However, there is no "show". Minnie, Goofy, Pluto, Chip and Dale come around to everyones table. The times we've been there it's taken approx. 45 min, or so, for all 5 to make the complete circuit. This time can vary. The last 2 times we've been there has been during MNSSHP. You can see the characters more than once, if you stay long enough for the circuit to start over.

Since the food is served famly style, you can re-order anything you want more of. We really like the food at LTT, with the exception of the mac 'n cheese. :confused3 Even my DD8 won't eat it, and she loves my mac 'n cheese. The meats are good, love the salad, good potatoes, and yummy dessert. Have fun!

mmm cobbler! :lovestruc

this is our family memory of LTT. We ate there in May 2006 and it was delicious food... we loved the cobbler (well ordered thirds actually :lmao: )

the atmosphere was great, characters did not rush around and the service was good.

my nieces have a food allergy and the chef even came out to consult with their mum about what they should and shouldnt eat... which i thought was great, really gave her piece of mind.

i would go back again in a heartbeat!

We have found LTT to have the hands down best character interaction in all of WDW. Go have fun!

BTW, Are the characters out all day long or only during certain hours?

Thanks so much!

Characters are only there for dinner. The first seating is at 4:00.

We love LTT. It is a must for every trip.

Another thumbs up for LTT. A nice meal, my five year old loved it. A great way to see all the traditional stars except Mickey. Plenty of food and drink we were constantly being offered more. My son hates 'real' mac and cheese but loved the artificially tasting one here (no accounting for taste). We already have it as a must do on our list for next time.

We got a last minute ADR at LTT in November. The atmosphere was really good, the service was excellent and the character interaction was great! You sit with just your family! The downside was the "food"! It was dry and overcooked..it definately sat under a heating lamp for at least an hour  ! I am not a picky eater but the food was not that good..It is family style so everything comes out at once..so you can eat the Mac and cheese..that was good. The characters were great and my kids loved the interaction! I would say do it for the whole package just do not expect alot from the food..have a great trip!!!!:thumbsup2

Thanks for all the replies. We thought about doing this restaurant two years ago when we last went. I think we will definately do it this time around! I LOVE Stouffers mac and cheese!

joenan88 - Sorry the food wasn't good when you were there. I've never had that problem, I guess I've been lucky. The food has always been delicious. I like everything from the salad dressing to the cobbler, even the rolls.

Hey Sharonmickey~ I agree with you..I have friends who loved it! LTT does have mixed reviews..they could have just been busy that night so my food may have sat longer then usual....I understand that! ;) That's why I said try it because everything other then the food was excellent...:)

We've gone to this restaurant for both lunch and dinner and had excellent meals and servers both times.
Quick story - As my DH and I were enjoying the Pot Roast for lunch, my daughter starting getting irritable, and a CM came to our table and spread a little pixie dust around :tinker: and talked with her for a couple minutes and she calmed right down.

We're booked there again for Sept. I would definitely recommend it!

Nope, you just sit with your party.

Anyone can. They bring out enough for everyone.

I think it is a little quicker, since the food is brought to the table.

They are there for pics and autographs.

This meal is a lot of fun, and I love it.:)

We went in January with seven adults (no kids). It was a good time. The character interaction was excellent (better than Chef Mickeys). They really spent a good amount of time with us and we ended up with lots of pictures. Our best character pictures came from LTT.

The meal took longer than the buffets. I think we were there at least an hour (probably more). The service was very slow. We were constantly looking for the server, and eventually had to grab another section's server that happened to walk by our table. I'm sure it was an isolated incident, they were very busy that night, but it was still a drag on the meal.

Foodwise, it was good. We ate tons of Mac & Cheese, so it's not just for kids. But overall it wasn't our favorite. Nothing really stood out, unlike Boma or Ohana which were very memorable food experiences. Sure, it's just basic All-American comfort food. But we had a better meal at 50's Prime Time Cafe.

In the end, I'm not sure we'd go back. If we want more character pictures on the next trip, then this would be our #1 place to visit. But in terms of food selection and service, we'd probably want to try some place else. Of course, there aren't many table service choices at the Magic Kingdom. So we'll probably end up back at LTT eventually.
