Hi guys,

Is is a buffet? Good food? Whats the deal with it for MNSSHP?:Pinkbounc

I don't have photos of Liberty Tree, but it is designed like a Colonial tavern with hardwood floors, cobbler benches and lots of Williamsburg blue! It is a pretty place. The food at lunch is not buffet, but mostly salads and sandwiches - crabcakes, chicken, cheese sticks, burgers, etc. The food is pretty good. It is not a cheap lunch, but is not overly expensive either.

Dinner is served family-style. The last time I was there they served chicken, flank steak and ribs, I think. There were also mashed potatoes, two vegetables and beverages all for one price. The servers kept replenishing the bowls of food as they were emptied. Dessert was not included when I was there, but it is now; I believe it is Boston Cream Pie; other types of dessert (apple pie) cost extra. The characters walk around to all the tables; they are dressed in Colonial garb - white stockings, big-buckle shoes, tri-cornered hats, Minnie in a long dress with petticoats. I enjoyed it. I believe that dinner is priced at around $25.00/adult.

Sorry...no pictures either, but Beccasmom described it very well. I tell people it's like having dinner at Martha Washington's house! We're heading back in September, and it was the number one choice of everyone in our family to book it again! (Mom-Dad, kids 14, 9 and 6.)
The dinner is not buffet, but they bring out as many platters as you want of fresh turkey, ham and flank steak. I'm not a big ham or flank steak person, but I had maybe three portions of turkey. The side dishes were good....and the pink lemonade was a huge hit at our table.
The character interaction was very, very good. And one final thing that was just so "Disney." When you arrive, they ask for your name and the state you're from. When your table is ready, the hostess (all decked out in colonial garb) yells out "Hear Ye, Hear Ye...now seating the Jones Family of Michigan"...or wherever you're from!
I won't exaggerate...the food is not awesome...it's just good and satisfying. I'd put it in the B/B-plus range. As for the price, well...tell me what at Disney isn't overpriced!
But the whole experience...and the convenience of eating right at Magic Kingdom...makes it just about tops on our list.

We did the char. dinner at Liberty Tree last July and loved it! Our family loved the food - even our picky eater found something she liked. In addition to the turkey, ham (I think we might have had smoked pork?) and flank steak, there was also mashed potatoes and gravy and macaroni and cheese, which all our kids liked. And I seem to recall a nice salad that Mom and Dad liked! Nothing fancy, just good ol' comfort food. We had a wonderful waiter. I don't remember his name, but he was deaf. He was very attentive, and had a good sense of humor as well. We all enjoyed the characters.

I'm sure you'll enjoy this meal if you do it.

Just gave it a thumb's up review on the "restaurant opinions needed thread."

Cheers :)
