We are planning a trip for Summer 2007. We are thinking either the first week or two of June vs. the end of July, first of August. I know what to expect for the July/August time per advice from friends, but not for June. How do they compare? How is weather? How are the crowds? Thanks!!

i love going in june cos the parks are open so late at night,it does get quite busy towards the end of june.Average queuing seems to be around 30 mins to an hour. But i love all the hustle and bustle when its busy.
The weather is sweltering though, depends if you can handle the heat :sunny:

Crowd levels will be high at pretty much anytime during the summer so there's probably not much difference there. It's going to be equally hot too. In June there will usually be a 30-45 minute period each day when it rains (if you don't mind getting wet this is a good time to visit attractions and have a short wait) but for the most part, it's sunny otherwise. We go in June every year and always have a great time.

I forgot about the rain! Does it rain more in June or July, or about the same? We are used to hot and humid here in MO, so that shouldn't be a big surprise. We plan on taking breaks mid-day, anyway.

We've always gone the last week in June-after school get out. Yes, it's hot; yes,it's crowded, and it does rain every afternoon...at least when we have gone. There are usually thunderstorms passing through in the mid afternoon, but they do not last long. I think it's a nice little 'cool-down'. :thumbsup2 We like to go in June and we take full advantage of the pools and waterparks. The parks are all open later so you don't mind leaving in the middle of the day for a break and then going back. Besides, everything is air-conditioned, so you can always step inside somewhere and cool off for a bit. Enjoy!

I can honestly say that when we went last summer(June 8th-15th) we did not have much crowds, like summers in the past. I can also say that it was much cooler last summer because I remember we didn't wear sunblock once the whole trip. Usually, we lather up each day! Early June is my favorite time to go! Tink

I'd expect the 2nd week to be more crowded than the 1st and then crowds to build even more after that. Many school systems are still in session during the 1st week of June and some even later than that. When we visited during this time period, we noticed a significant increase in the number of people at the resorts and in the parks as we entered the 2nd week of June.

Gay Days at the MK is normally on the 1st Saturday in June. This would be June 2nd in 2007; which I guess is the last week of May instead of the 1st week of June so it may not fall within your plans. Expect June 2 to be very crowded in the MK.

Keep the advice and tips coming for June. We are planning to return in June 2007 also(2nd week). :sunny: I need to gobble up all the info about June in WDW. We just thought it would be easier to go when there is no school now that our DS will be starting K :Pinkbounc :bounce:

We're going to be there this June knowing that it's going to be crowded, hot, and humid. We've been twice in the middle of June and had wonderful vacations in spite of the heat, etc. Going early in the day and taking pool breaks in the afternoon helped. On one of our trips it rained the entire time until we were almost to the airport on our way home, so expect to wear ponchos at least some of the time. I do have to say that our last four trips have been in January, and it is awesome! Florida weather feels great then. :sunny: Our kids are nearing the point where it's going to be hard to pull them out of school, so we will probably be making summer trips again. Our high school has 90 minute classes, so that much material in a week would make it hard to catch up. I don't want to turn this into a debate about taking kids out of school for a vacation, but it has been pretty easy while they are in elementary school. I was dead set against it for a while, but I've found our teachers and staff to be supportive because my kids are good students and will make up the work.

The earlier you go in June the better it is crowd wise. We have been to WDW four times in June. Normally it's been the first week or two. Last year because of DS school we went from June 15-23. It was crowded as expected. But by arriving at all the parks before opening we got a lot done before the big crowds arrived later in the morning. This strategy works whether it's an EMH morning or not. We always left the park by noon for a break and then went to another park later. Even the MK is very quiet in the morning, especially if you go left away from Tomorrowland. We managed to see Mickey's Philharmagic with about six other people first thing in the morning.
Be prepared for pop up thunderstorms at any time in the afternoon. Make sure you keep hydrated by drining a lot of water. Of course, sunscreen is a must.
Our trip last June was great until the last couple of days when all of a sudden every park was jammed beyond belief. At that point even park hopping was no good. Lucikly we already did everything we wanted (and then some) so we were only looking to re-do some of the rides and attractions. One thing I must point out is that the evening EMH last June was a total waste of time. Far too many people with the wait times as bad (or worse) than during the day. After we grabbed FP for Tower of Terror and rode the return time for FP was way into the night with all the stand-by times crazy so we just left.
If you can do things early, use FP and park hop you will be fine in June. Just take it a little slower in the Florida sun and heat and make sure you plan on a hotel break.

Early June is VERY HOT and very busy. Rainy season usually starts in May so you'll get that rain as well. In comparison to early August, I believe the crowds will be the same if not more crowded.

We actually prefer mid-late August over early June because the sun is not as intense as it is June. It just tends to be more overcast in August than June and that helps filter some of the sun's rays,. but the humidity level is about the same. Of course, in late August there is definitely a decrease in crowds, but increase of hurricanes and tropical activity. Early August is definitely still busy.

I've been several time the first full week of June. We're going back in June 2007.

I don't ever remember the crowds being intense and we were there during Gaydays. It's far too easy to see the schedules that both groups use and zig when they zag, for them to be a crowd issue. I would never let that be an issue for me.

As far as the weather, I'm in Houston, so I'm used to the heat and humidity. Even then, we would leave the parks and head back to our hotel during the afternoon and either swim, or nap. Then, we'd head back each evening. The crowds were usually lighter and the weather was cooler.

Would I rather go the first week of December, like I used to? Heck yeah! March is out for 2007 too, so I have to go to the lesser of all evils and that's the first week of June for me. :thumbsup2
