that my one little kitten, who's all of about 6 lbs, can be playing upstairs and make it sound like there's a whole heard of wildebeasts up there?

Seems to go in line with my 11lb Shih-Tzu (He's a little fluffy right now, so I'd say he might be pushing 12lbs!) sounds like an elephant whenever he comes home from going #2 and runs around on the carpeted floor.

He runs with so much energy/spunk that he actually lifts his front paws above his head as he gallops.

That's so true! My DD21 brought her 2 kittens home with her for Christmas, and it sounded like they were moving furniture around upstairs!

Mine are like that too. I have two of them, they're littermates. They are INSANE and they sound like two elephants fighting. Just today they almost knocked over my porcelain lamp fighting each other.

I wish I knew. We have 5 cats now (one just passed) but one of them is very heavy on his feet!! The others hardly make any nosie at all.

I have two shelties, one 20lb and the other 25lb and they don't make nearly as much noise when they're playing!
