HiEveryone

I was wondering how Scary halloween nights at universal compares to the MK and which one is best. Also are the crowds very different. I am coming over 30 sept for 2 weeks and would like to go to one but dont fancy a really really really busy park as we will have been at one all day. Any ideas or tips greatly appreciated

Well, I have not been to either, but am going to MK this Oct. That said, you can get a good idea just based on the names: Mickey's NOT so scary Halloween party vs. Halloween HORROR Nights. You don't say if you will have kids with you and what the ages are; that could make all the difference.
At MK there is probably nothing that would scare young kids except for maybe the Haunted Mansion which some young kids don't mind at all. It is all about fun. At IOA, on the other hand, it is a totally different experience, with many scary "houses", all considerably MORE scary than the Haunted Mansion at MK. I think there are also assorted monsters, murderers and the likes just walking around to scare people. Most people do not recommend this one for the very young, old, or otherwise faint of heart. But it may be great if you are talking just adults and you like that stuff.
I'm sure you will get lots more info. from folks who have experienced both.

Thanks Mrsmud
I am taking DD9 and DD6, but myself and DH were thinking about just the 2 of us as we have friends who will babysit for the night. IOA sounds like great fun, but would hate for large crowds to spoil it. am I being selfish (probably)

Mickey's Halloween Party: :)

HHN:

Crowds are different in many means. MK's even will not sell alcohol, while HHN will. HHN is designed to scare you silly and make you scream. If going to HHN, keep in mind that Fridays and Saturdays are the BUSIEST, so if you want a smaller crowd, go during the week.

You truly cannot compare the two. They are both great, but completely different. Universal is ALOT scarier, but fun IMO, where Disney is fun and magical but more for the little ones. Little ones would be terrified at Universal.
