These are places that we've never been to and I don't see too much said about them here. Since we aren't doing the DDP this time around, I *might* like to try...well...depending on what you guys say! :)

They'd be for lunches as we have ADRs for our dinners and we plan on grabbing quick muffins/bagels for breakfast! Is the food good and do you get a lot for the prices? any info would be much appreciated! I know there are a lot....so please just answer where you can! Sorry and THANK YOU!!!

Electric Umbrella -- EPCOT
Katsura Grill -- Japan/EPCOT
La Catina de San Angel -- Mexico/EPCOT
Lotus Blossom -- China/EPCOT
Tangierine Cafe -- Morocco/EPCOT

Casey's Corner -- MK
Golden Oak Outpost -- MK
Lunching Pad -- MK
Pinocchio Villiage -- MK
Tortuga Tavern -- MK

Backlot Express -- HS
Fairfax Fare -- HS
Rosie's All American Cafe--HS
Pizza Planet -- HS (keeping in mind we are from NJ and have great pizza around here....as well as 40 mins from NY who also has great pizza -- HA HA)

Tangierine Cafe in Epcot is wonderful! I recommend the Chicken & Lamb Schwarma Platter combo. Huge portion, and very tender meat. It was my favorite CS meal during our entire trip.

I can tell you of a few, Just returned from WDW and had the ribs at Fair Fax (HS)
Not falling off the bone, kind of chewy but are tasty, had no problem with them, Ate a burger at the Electric Umbrella, big mistake, the buns are terrible, if going again I would get the chicken strips or something else, Caseys serves hot dogs in the same awful buns, order something else.
All the CS use the same type buns so beware.
Flametree also have ribs useing a differant sauce, there tasty.
:3dglasses

I would definitely skip Electric Umbrellas just because there are so many great places around the world to eat.

You will probably be disappointed with Pizza Planet unless you are just going for the Toy Story ambiance. We really like Fairfax Fare and usually go there on our HS day.

Are you trying to pick a lunch spot at each park?

If you are, of the Epcot places you list, we like Tangierine Cafe the most. Electric Umbrella is really bad, but if you need an air-conditioned place to eat in Future World, I recommend Sunshine Seasons. Love that place; the food is fresh and the choices are interesting.

In MK, we like Columbia Harbor House and Cosmic Ray's (not any of your picks). I'm crazy for the tuna sandwich and apple tart at CHH, and the guys in my group love the chicken and rib platter at Ray's.

Of your HS picks, I'd go with Pizza Planet if you want air-conditioning. The pizza is like frozen or Papa John's--not great or authentic, but edible, and we like the salads and Mickey-Head rice krispie treats for dessert.

Have a great trip, neighbor. :wave2:

Hi Neighbor! :)
Thanks for your help!
We have park hoppers for 6 days so I'm not sure where we will end up for lunch, but I know we are planning lunch in the parks before we head back to our hotel every day for naps. I think a few days we are in MK, a few EPCOT and 1 day in HS for lunches. We've been to CHH and CRays which is why I didn't ask about those....and we'll probably end up and one of those on our trip.
I just wanted to ask about these "other" places that we've never eaten at.....just to make sure we aren't missing anything fantastic!

Thanks everyone else also! All helpful info!!! :thumbsup2

Electric Umbrella -- I enjoy their black bean flatbread!
Katsura Grill -- Haven't been, but we looked at the menu and it seems quite tasty.
La Catina de San Angel -- Very good! The empanadas are my fav
Lotus Blossom -- Really good, basic "mall" chinese, orange chicken rules!
Tangierine Cafe -- Love it!!! I am a lamb person, so I usually get that.

Casey's Corner -- Basic CS stuff, nothing special IMO
Golden Oak Outpost -- This is a food cart, not a CS place, fyi
Lunching Pad -- Basic CS stuff again
Pinocchio Villiage -- Mostly pizza, they also have a salad and chicken parm I think.
Tortuga Tavern -- Taco salad is a GREAT value

Backlot Express -- We enjoy it here because it usually isn't too crowded and you can refill drinks.
Fairfax Fare -- Haven't eaten here
Rosie's All American Cafe--Haven't eaten here
Pizza Planet -- It's the same pizza you get on the rest of property, basically a good frozen pizza. If you're cool with that, it's a nice place to eat.

Epcot - definitely NOT Electric Umbrella. Consider Norway or France for lunch, too. I think Norway is a very high value for a CS lunch credit. The choices do change daily but generally include a soup/salad/fruit plate, plus a large hot or cold sandwich (I especially like the ham, cheese, & apple) on really good bread, plus your beverage, plus your choice from the pastry counter for dessert. If you want to stay in FW, Sunshine Seasons.

MK - Pinocchio pizza is just like all the other pizza in WDW. NOT a taste of home. If you're eating there because it's convenient, try a salad instead.

HS - treating the multiple different stands along Sunset Blvd as a single food court is a great idea. The food at all of them is OK, and your party gets a lot more choices that way. The only possible issue is that the covered seating is limited. On a really hot sunny day, having hot food while sitting at a hot picnic table may not be fun.

The only one of those we ate at was Pizza Planet. We're from NY, so we also know great pizza. I thought of it similarly to how I personally think of Pizza Hut or Domino's... good and edible, but I have a hard time considering it "real" pizza. :rotfl:

Electric Umbrella -- this is ok; nothing special but not bad..burgers, chicken strips, etc.
Katsura Grill -- I haven't eaten here so I can't comment.
La Catina de San Angel -- This is really good.
Lotus Blossom -- This is good too, but not alot of choices.
Tangierine Cafe -- I haven't eaten here so I can't comment.

I really love the Norway counterserivce and France counterservice options so maybe consider those as well.

Casey's Corner -- This is just hotdogs but they are very good in my opinion. We always eat there at least once. The corndog nuggets are good too.
Golden Oak Outpost -- I haven't eat here so I cant' comment.
Lunching Pad -- This mostly snacks. They have an excellent stuffed pretzel.
Pinocchio Villiage -- Ok, normal fare. It is cool if you get one of the windows overlooking small world.
Tortuga Tavern -- I haven't eatn here either.

We really like Columbia Harbor House and usually eat lunch there.

Backlot Express --ok, standard fare. Nothing great.
Fairfax Fare -- This is probably the best option for CS in DHS. The ribs are pretty good.
Rosie's All American Cafe--ok, burgers and chicken fingers.
Pizza Planet -- Terrible pizza. I live in PA and often eat Pizza Hut. I still think this is probably the worst pizza I've ever had. Just so you know all CS pizza is the same. This does have a pretty cool ambiance. I tried it again last trip just to remind myself I hate WDW pizza.

Never ate at any of the EPCOT restaurants, but Casey's has great hot dogs and the Tortuga Tavern is good as well.

Pizza Planet has your run of the mill pizza. You may like it being from NJ because the only real pizza can be found in Chicago! pixiedust::joker:

The walk up/counter service place in "China" is absolutely AWFUL.
It makes mall chinese look good. Seriously. It is ridiculously bad.

Portions are pretty similar across the park. They have done a good job of standardizing sizes/prices. Tangierine Cafe tends to be bigger, as you usually get several sides.

Electric Umbrella -- EPCOT
Katsura Grill -- Japan/EPCOT
La Catina de San Angel -- Mexico/EPCOT
Lotus Blossom -- China/EPCOT
Tangierine Cafe -- Morocco/EPCOT

Tangierine Cafe is best out of your list. Hands down. Then Katsura Grill and La Catina de San Angel. Lotus Blossom reminded me of mall food court Chinese. And Electric Umbrella is just meh. Same burgers you can find all over the resort. If you are going to be in that part of the park, do Sunshine Seasons. Much better food and selection.

Casey's Corner -- MK
Golden Oak Outpost -- MK
Lunching Pad -- MK
Pinocchio Villiage -- MK
Tortuga Tavern -- MK

Well, Golden Oak and Tortuga Tavern seem to really be seasonal only. So unless you are going during high demand, they may very well be closed. Lunching Pad and Casey's corner have a very limited menu, what you see is what you get. Not bad food if that is the mood you are in. If you are looking for larger portions, some of the meals at Cosmic Rays are pretty large. Half chicken meal I'm looking at you....

Backlot Express -- HS
Fairfax Fare -- HS
Rosie's All American Cafe--HS
Pizza Planet -- HS (keeping in mind we are from NJ and have great pizza around here....as well as 40 mins from NY who also has great pizza -- HA HA)

I'd say Backlot Express and Fairfax Fare/Rosies are pretty much even. Look at the menus, and eat wherever you are. I won't traipse all the way across the park for either, just eat at the one that is closer. I'd skip Pizza Planet. It's the same small individual pizzas that Pizzafari and other locations serve. If you are used to good pizza you would think of it more as dough with toppings, and not pizza.

Electric Umbrella -- EPCOT yuck
Katsura Grill -- Japan/EPCOThaven't been here
La Catina de San Angel -- Mexico/EPCOTso-so Mexican food-
Lotus Blossom -- China/EPCOT so-so, like mall food court chinese food
Tangierine Cafe -- good food--but no other choices if you don't like mediterranean/moroccan food.Morocco/EPCOT[
would highly recommend Sunshine Seasons in The Land...mulitple food stations, both hot and cold food, everything from deli-type sandwiches to grilled pork chops to asian platters.

Casey's Corner -- MK only hot dogs here, not a fan
Golden Oak Outpost -- MKnot a fan
Lunching Pad -- MKnot a fan
Pinocchio Villiage -- MKreally not a fan
Tortuga Tavern -- MKgood burgers
our favorite counter service at MagicKingdom is Cosmic Rays--love the ribs & chicken there

Backlot Express -- HS just OK
Fairfax Fare -- HSjust OK
Rosie's All American Cafe--HSjust OK
Pizza Planet -- HS (keeping in mind we are from NJ and have great pizza around here....as well as 40 mins from NY who also has great pizza -- HA HA)
if you're expecting good pizza, don't go here. It's just barely OK...more like frozen pizza heated up than fresh pizza
Our preferred counter service at DHS is Starring Rolls for lunch...they have just a couple of choices of pre-made gourmet sandwiches, but we like both of them. One is a ham version, other is turkey. You do not special order, they come totally made so no have-it-your-way. But they are good. And the desserts at the bakery counter there are fabulous.

In general, the portion sizes are generous at Disney restaurants, both table service and counter service. We're not small adults, and we rarely can finish the whole meal on any of the combo-type meals.

Electric Umbrella -- EPCOT --- pretty good.
Katsura Grill -- Japan/EPCOT
La Catina de San Angel -- Mexico/EPCOT
Lotus Blossom -- China/EPCOT ---- we liked it, and we dont like mall food court type of chinese food!
Tangierine Cafe -- Morocco/EPCOT ---- awful!
In Epcot, i'd eat fish n' chips (QS!) at the UK pavilion. Or better yet, sunshine seasons. Or even grab a sandwich & dessert from the bakery in france.

Casey's Corner -- MK ---- meh. im not a big fan.
Golden Oak Outpost -- MK
Lunching Pad -- MK
Pinocchio Villiage -- MK --- we like it here.
Tortuga Tavern -- MK ---not bad. pretty decent.

Backlot Express -- HS ---we usually get the burger and its pretty decent.
Fairfax Fare -- HS
Rosie's All American Cafe--HS
Pizza Planet -- HORRENDOUS pizza. Just awful. I'd stay FAR away from this place. I'd much rather grab a sandwich & dessert from Starring Rolls.

I love Tortuga Tavern. It is Mexican with a fixins bar that has lettuce, tomatoes, cheese, jalapenos, etc. It is usually crowded and hard to find a table but is worth it.
