How is Febuary?

DH is thinking of tent camping the beginning of Febuary and was wondering how the weather and crowds are.

Usually, the weather is great but that sneaky cold front could always show up. The crowds are really low; especially if you do all your fun before the Presidential birthday holidays.

We've gone twice in Feb and its always very quiet. Weather can be chilly but as long as you've got sweatshirts and some extra blankets you should be fine.

Early February is nice. We made several day trips then.

The average temps are low 70s for the high and low 50s for the evenings. Crowds are low. Weather is generally nice (warm in the sun, cool in the shade) but its too cool for me to swim in the heated (supposedly!) Fort pools.

Rates go up dramatically around Valentines Day but if your schedule allows you to go in early Feb I would definitely recommend it.

PS - I think early Feb is still Value pricing for campsites. Those are among the lowest regular rack prices you'll get at the Fort....

DD and I were at CBR Feb. 2007 at CBR the weather was great. DD swam at the resort pool the 1st night we were there.
