Last year the best travel advice I received was flying out of Buffalo. :goodvibes We paid $637 US round-trip for the 4 of us ($69 each-way)

There's only 2 of us this time. I don't know how everyone else is faring, but this year it didn't seem worth it for us. :confused3

$841 Air Canada round-trip ($149 each-way)
$579 JetBlue ($134 each-way)
$262 Difference

In order to get the only non-stop flight there & back (7:10 am / 5:10 pm), we would have to stay overnight in Buffalo on our way there & back. So we would need to pay for 2 overnight stays, a lunch & dinner, and gas. And not to mention driving-time.

This year it worked out better for us to fly Air Canada. However, I'm happy as that meant we could use the 2 traveling days as park days instead! :goodvibes

We just flew out of Youngstown, Ohio to St. Petersburgh Clearwater airport for March break with Allegiant and paid $496.00 for 4 tickets with taxes. Was definitely worth the 4hr drive from Oakville. Sunwing wanted $2700 from Pearson!

I am trying to do some summer and fall planning, and it seems to me that the Buffalo schedules have been reducing the number of direct flights. This becomes an issue -- the more time it takes to get the WDW, the less attractive the incentive to travel that way. We've been doing BUF-MCO for quite awhile, but the next flight just might be out of Pearson!

We're making the 5 hour trip to Detroit. We normally fly out of Buffalo but could find NOTHING under 1500 for the 4 of us which just isn't worth it to us. We payed less than half of that last year.

Direct flights at decent times out of Detroit were 800. A night in an airport area hotel and parking for the week will be another 150 or so. I can live with that.:)

We've found the exact same thing for our October trip. Could save a couple hundred by flying out of Buffalo, but the extra travel time & hotel cost would eat up the savings. So Pearson it is!

After reading all your posts I feel so ripped off flying out of Saskatoon is so darn expensive and I don't have very many options to choose from, wish I had more time off then I would drive to the states and fly from there problem is I don't want to waste a day driving to and from airport. :confused3

Checking the Canadian forum and all airlines seems to have become my
" new job" as I hunt for half decent flights for next Jan.

I need some Pixie Dust!

Doing the same thing ... looking from New England to MCO for March 2012. Flights slowly coming out ...

We are flying to MCO on Dec.31st and returning the 2nd week of January. Flights came out in early Feb. Both ways are direct on Westjet. When the flights first came out they were $520 per person one way! :scared1: I watched every day for a week or so and when the flight on the 31st dropped to $250 we scooped them up. They have slowly climbed back up and are now at $369 per person one way! Glad I got them when I did! The return fare is still cheaper, but for 2 adults and 3 children our total for both flights was about $2900! :scared1:

Sending pixie dust :wizard: to everyone that you get cheap flights. Although ours was still ridiculously expensive, there is still hope that a seat sale will come up and I can get a credit! :goodvibes

Flying West Jet
Just booked
Well I tried something different...I've never flown out of Hamilton so I tried a flight on Dec 31st--from YMH to MCO. Return Jan 7th MCO to YMH.
Direct --
Two Tickets including taxes+ $1,185.00 --basically 592.50 each.

I used my Petro Canada Points $300.00 to off set the cost a bit.
$442.50 each.

Better than direct out of Toronto's prices.

You'll like Hamilton, we fly in/out of there whenever visiting family in St. Catharines. It's a small airport with short lines but you do have to go outside and up a ramp to board the plane. ;)

I feel your pain! We fly from Edmonton (2 1/2 hour drive to get there from home) and have very few options. We could drive to Calgary or out of an airport in Montana but in the past prices haven't been much, if any better.

About all you can do is subscribe to all the airline emails that apply to you, troll the websites on a regular basis and take what you can get.

For flights to MCO we have gotten very low fares, like last Nov at $121 pp each way, so that was around $700 total for the two of us. Sheer luck to find those as they were up for just a few hours.

The most we've paid was $2900 all in for four of us for Christmas 09. Right now that would be a very good price for four as lately it's been averaging out at $3500 on many days.:confused3

The next trip will be on Aeroplan points but who knows what the prices will do over the next few years?:)
