Hi guys...need some help! We have been trying to plan an off season trip but due to school and extra curricular activities it looks like mid July or not at all. So how bad will it be? We usually go for 9 days and do every other day at a park with rest days in between. How are the crowds? What about wait times for rides? Any help would be greatly appreciated! :flower3:

I have been mid-July for the past two years as well as in Dec., Jan., and April, and if you arrive early you will be fine. It is hot, but I didn't find it too bad. Michigan had a hot summer last year so it didn't feel much different. The parks are crowded, but in the early morning they are not bad at all. If you use fastpass after that you will get on the rides you want to. We like to take a mid break and swim. Although it rains in the summer, we have been VERY lucky and never had it rain on us but once!

We've traveled to Disney in July. While it is probably the last month of the year I would want to travel there, I would still go if it came down to July or nothing. I think the key is to pace yourselves and maybe get to the parks early, leave during the heat of the day and then return when it cools down later in the day/evening. That is what we have done in the past when it is brutally hot. I guess the heat/humidity is not too different there than it is for us here in NJ in the summer, but we are just not used to being out in it for such a long period of time. The crowds are pretty up there only because you get a lot of people that are doing the same thing-traveling when school is out. I think you will be there for so many days that doing all that you want or seeing everything that you want to will not be an issue. :flower3:

We will be there this July!!! I am planning on doing extra days in the parks so we can spread out our magic and not try to cram everything in in fewer days. I am also mapping out the air-conditioned attractions/restaurants/etc so that we can find some relief when it gets hot. We are staying offsite, but the little ones have done fabulous with sleeping in the double stroller.

I also keeping a list of things to pack to keep everyone cool! (mister fans, neck coolers, fans for the stroller, water bottles to freeze)

We've also been there in mid-July and it will be very hot and moderately crowded. But, as long as you hit the parks early, take afternoon breaks to cool down and keep yourselves hydrated - you'll have a great time! You'll be in Disney, after all!

Thanks everyone! :flower3: I feel a lot better after hearing your stories! We too are used to extremely hot and humid summers , so the heat shouldn't be too big of a problem. I was mostly worried about the crowds. Since were going for 9 days we should have plenty of time to see all that we want to see and take breaks as well. I'm so excited now! Maybe we'll make this a surprise trip for the kids!

We're also going mid-July (15-25). Planning to spend lots of time at the pools and enjoying Disney atmosphere! Can't wait!

This is your Temperature as you progress thru the day... :furious:

And this is your personal space... :grouphug:

Now go have some fun!!! :thumbsup2

Angiewin, can you PLEASE tell me what wpasadi is? I tried looking it up once and just got more confused. Could NOT find what it stands for and it's driving me crazy!:confused3

Wickedly Perfect Apprentice Survivor American Dis Idol (I think!!)

Wpasadi is a game on here on the DIS that we have been playing since November. It is in its final round with 5 people left. It is a combination of many reality TV shows. It was stressful, but fun! My team left the competition a couple of months ago.

I couldn't agree more. We'll be there in July/August this year and although it's not my favorite time of year, we've always had fun this time of year. A agree with an earlier poster that rain is possible. We always brought ponchos from home and just kept going through the rain. Sometimes the parks really clear out with the rain. One summer we were there, it rained almost every day from 3-6. We learned to take our breaks earlier so we could swim and went back in later with our ponchos.

It's not my least favorite time, that's Christmas time. WAY TOO MANY PEOPLE! And sometimes too cold to swim.

We'll be there 7/20 - 8/4 this year.

We'll be there too in July (11-20) - our first time to try that month for a WDW trip! Also our first time to bring someone in a wheelchair and an infant - my 14 mo DNeice. Lots of firsts but we'll make with the help of the DIS.:disrocks:

I hope to actually see another Diser there this year!! We are staying offsite, but will be there the whole time you are!

This will be our third time to go in July and it is fine. Just get to the parks early and enjoy all the popular rides first. Use the afternoon to relax and go thru the shops. We always enjoy the rain. We just put on our ponchos and go ride. We find that a lot of people go back to the hotel or stay inside somewhere and we can get a lot of rides done this way. :woohoo:
