How is Disney in this mid 60's type weather?

We usually go when it is warmer (last trip was August, before that was April). Living here in New Jersey, I can't quite remember what 65 feels like. Am I going to be hitting the pool? What seems to be that magic temperature number that makes the pool fill up during the mid-day hours?

Based on our recent trip, if it's sunny and in the mid 70s there will be a lot of people using the pool. We did see a few people in the pool on cooler days when it was in the high 60s but not that many.

Just an FYI for those who like to keep track since the "pool gate" days: the Kidani pool was about 82 degrees. I didn't measure the hot tub but it was quite hot and felt wonderful!

We've been there when the temp is high 60's and it's great.........our kids have gone swimming (they're young adults). Our kids say the pools are heated and while you don't stay in the pool for several hours, it okay to spend some time in the pool and then get out and head back to the room. Now.......we were there in early January (daytime temps were 48/52 and overnight temps were high 20's/low 30's)......way too cold for pool .........lifeguards were not even working.............signs on the pools stating pools were open, but, swin at your own risk. As far as parks in high 60 temps........it's great.........no humidity, usually no lines, locals avoid like the plague since it's too cold..........for those of us from the north.......high 60's is perfect!!!!

60's sounds downright tropical right now given that it's low 30's and over 2 feet of snow at home.

We were swimming in Jan during marathon weekend it was in the 30's during the day, pool felt great the walk back to the room was a little interesting but the pool was not crowded. There was ice in the fountain at SSR.

If we hover around 70 and sunny for our trip, I think we'll be out by the pool most days. Mentally, I need that pool break every day. I'm not sure what we'd do if we didn't have it.

And not a flake of snow in Southern CT! We got robbed.

Shhhh! If it comes to CT, it'll be here in SE MA... I want nothing to do with the white spit from the clouds! (although the flurries we had all day today were very pretty ;) and NO accumulation!)

I want the kids to swim as much as possible over vacation but the weather predictions look like 50s to 60s and rain for our trip. It's not the pool, as stated becuase it's plenty warm, it's the walk back (kidani). DS already has a plan... to bring his clothes, run to the bathroom and change there before heading back to the room. I don't think there's any guarantee that the bathrooms are heated :)

To me, 65 sunny and no wind in Fla feels more like low to mid 70's up north. I think that is because the sun is more intense/vertical down south

..in the parks, 65 quickly alternates between short sleves or jackets as you go in and out of shade or get a breeze. Then at night, the temp will seem to drop quickly...

Arriving on 2/11. When it is in the 60s are long pants needed or could kids wear shorts? Not sure what to pack.

We went last Feb and it was 40 in the morning. I called my mom from the bus stop for a PA weather report; with wind chill it was 10 there. That certainly made me feel better (and warmer). I wore capris with sweatshirt most days. My DH and DDs wore shorts with sweatshirts. By the afternoon it was 65/ 70. My daughters both had sweatshirts off within first hour most days.

I guess it depends on your kids. (My daughter just came in from playing in the snow. She is wearing a T and shorts...I am in sweats with blanket.)

I learned with my nephews the hard way. Florida can experience weather differences from the 70s down to the low 40s all in one day. Pack & wear Layers! For little ones who might be stubborn about changes to their wardrobe, prepare them in advance by making a copy cat game of it ;)

My suggestion for the winter months: Save the shorts for around the resort. Wear pants & T shirts in the parks. Bring a sweater/sweatshirt & a jacket. You can toss the bulky stuff in a locker for just a couple $ (you have the locker all day) - well worth it even when staying on site, just don't forget to retrieve your stuff!

Gloves & hats are also well worth while.

We are here right now and have been going in shortly after dark, which is pretty early this time of the year. If I had brought a nice fuzzy hat and some gloves we would probably be game for being out later. But with the wind and when the sun goes down, it is pretty chilly to be standing around outside in line.

was at WDW exactly two years ago this week. We went expecting cooler temps and they missed the forecast. We were only there for three nights but i had only taken one pair of shorts and ended up wearing them for three days. They reached near record temps of low 80's which was very nice. I even went to the pool and swam in gym shorts I'd taken to sleep in. Lesson learned, when DW and I go for our second kidless trip the week after Thanksgiving we will we be more prepared for either extreme!

We drive so taking more clothes isn't a problem. Many will tell you with WDW in the fall/winter weather is such a missed bag so be prepared to layer so that you can adjust to the temps.

Some of us are rejoicing!:woohoo::woohoo:

Growing up in north central Minnesota, my mother's rule was it had to be 67 before we could wear shorts -- now I'd be :cold:

Hit or miss.. during the day.. you may be able to hit the pool for a bit.. in the mornings or evenings.. it will probably be too cold..

We have enjoyed both over the years.. there has been some Mardi Gras vacations that we have been able to walk around in shorts and swim every day.

Then have been been there where we had heavy jackets and were freezing.. especially during the windy nights...

Good luck, have a great time!
