How is Disney in September?

We've been going in Sept for at least 20 years now & my advice is to think about the following & decide how it may or may not affect you.

1). Oppressive heat
2). Potential for days of pouring rain - if a tropical storm/hurricane is stirring in either the Atlantic or Gulf you can have days of rain... no, I'm not talking the typical 20 min thunderstorm
3). Lovebugs, harmless yes, but a pain in the tush nonetheless. This past Sept we ended up only night swimming because you couldn't sit poolside without them crawling all over you.
4). Increased crowds due to free dining (enough to make us change our our plans for 07)
5). Parks generally close in the 8-9pm range not counting EMH's so not open too late.

Good Luck with your decision!

Out of the six times that we've been, four of those times were in September. We always found the crowds very light. We have pictures of a deserted Frontierland first thing in the morning. The weather is still warm, in fact, sticky might be a better word to use. I'll say this too, at the risk of sounding insensitive. I would imagine that the week of Sept. 11th would be lighter than usual, just because a lot of people are nervous about traveling at that time. We were there 2 weeks after the 9/11 attacks and the crowds were non existant. Except for the heat, I think it's a great time to go! Good luck! :thumbsup2
