On our first night (in three weeks, yay! :woohoo: :woohoo: ) at the World my family and I will be having dinner at 1900 Park Fare. I know it's a character dinner, but I want to get down to the knitty gritty!

How is the food? popcorn::

Is the character interaction good? :grouphug:

DD3 princess: is dressing up like Cinderella and I want to know what to expect.

TIA

Fabulous!! they have a carving station, a pasta bar, salad bar, dessert bar and you have to try the strawberry soup!! We love it. This is our 2nd dinner when we go (1st Chef Mickey's)

This is one of our favorites! The characters spent alot of time (compared to LTT!!!) with DD and she saw each one several times. The food was hot, good and plentiful. Even Dh asked to go back here!

1900 Park Fare was also our first night dinner last year and we loved it. What a great way to start our trip. The food was excellent! We did 3 dinner character buffets (CP and CM were the other 2) and we thought the food was excellent at all 3. Character interaction was great! Have fun!

I am SO glad to hear such positive things so far about 1900! :cloud9: I've never eaten there before and was a little worried!

Keep 'em coming!

We went last year and it was quite good. Loved the strawberry soup! Had a little more upscale buffet items! :thumbsup2

In a word--delicious!!!! Your DD will have LOTS of time with the characters, almost to the point of overkill. When we were there in November, Suzy and Perla (the mice) must have been at our table at least 4 times.

Enjoy your free dining--I'm jealous you'll be at 1900. We'll also be there for free dining and had so many other places we wanted to try we couldn't fit it in. I do, however, have my Christmas dinner booked there for this year and am looking forward to seeing the GF all decked out.

We love it, I have eaten there 3 times and the food is great. The other reason is Prince Charming, you just can't find him anywhere  (oh course I'm talking about WDW).

I see you are having christmas dinner here. Are you actually eating there on 12-25? So are we!!!! Have a great dinner.....

It's a crowded place so with us we went at dinner the characters only came around once and I think we had to wait for cinderella before we left. Having said that when they do arrive at your table you have plenty of time to interact so that is nice.

The food is awesome! I think it's one of the better buffet offerings in wdw.

If you have time before you go inside they have a little court yard area to wait in also that have a sweet statue of mary poppin's for a good photo op. Also the fairy godmother was wandering the waiting area entertaninting and sitting for pictures that was nice.

You'll enjoy it!

We'll be eating at 1900 Park Fare for the first time in October, so I'm very happy to read all the great comments. I'm especially looking forward to trying the strawberry soup. :)

For a buffet we were real happy with the food. Very good, and different stuff along with the usual carved meat section. Thats one of the meals my hubby still talks about when Disney food conversation comes up. He wants to go back, but I like to try different places. Its on my must do again list, and that list is short.

You will like it :thumbsup2

Is it hard to get ressies (as in CRT)? My dd, now 9 could care less about the characters, but the buffet sounds pretty good!

Strawberry soup?! Is it like a cream soup? :confused3

We are not normally fans of buffets, which usually feature quantity over quality. However, we went to 1900 twice for dinner in one week. It more than satisfied the picky child, the daring child, the non meat eating female, and the non meat eating male. Shrimp were good (not mushy), and one night they had awesome portobello ravioli in a portbello sauce (not too creamy).
Also, both the kids and adults liked the desserts. Character interaction was good, not rushed, but not too much either. It was just right. Otherwise, dinner becomes too chaotic (you get enough of that in the parks); need some down time.

1900 Park Fare is one of my favorites since eating there last summer. I have a ressie again for dinner this summer.

Strawberry soup is on the cold table :cold: and yes it is creamy. Really interesting, not quite like yogurt more like strawberries and cream. Probably dreadful for you, but it was really refreshing, almost like a smoothie! The food overall last October at 1900 was quite good. And the fairy godmother teased my 17 yr old son so much she got him to enjoy the character side!

Good to hear the reviews, I was getting worried too, as I have also heard some nasty stuff too! Celebrating my 25th BD there this Oct, that is the only way i could con my DS8 to eat with a princess :lmao:

Count us in too for Christmas dinner (on 12-25) at 1900 Park Fare - we have an ADR at 4:10pm. By the way, we're also from WI :)
