How is Crystal Palace for lunch?

I'm a little bummed. We ate lunch there several years ago (we loved it) and they had the peel and eat shrimp out for lunch. Oh well, looks like the peel and it shrimp is just a dinner item.

Had lunch at CP last week. Loved it! And I'm not a buffet fan. The salmon was really good- even compared to non-buffet salmon. I expected it to be dry, but it was one of my favorite meals. Great salads. The desserts we chose were delicious- coconut flan and boston creme pie. A high quality buffet. And Pooh and friends!!

Just wanted to remind people who are going during meal upcharge/surcharge peak seasons (June - Aug this summer), the dinner will be $32.99 + $4.00/adult upcharge, plus tax and tip and $15.99 + 2.00/child upcharge.

That is a pretty high price to pay for dinner, so make sure that it's definitely worth it, as lunch is almost the same thing for a cheaper price.

Happy eating, Tiger :)

Do you know the specific dates for the upcharge? I had looked on AllEars.net, but didn't see anything in the dining news this year. We have a ressie for 8 on June 2nd at Crystal Palace at 4 pm. Is 4 pm lunch or dinner? Dinner, I'm guessing. We may rethink where we'll eat if it's dinner and a surcharge on top of that. Hmmm....

I believe it's June 1 - Aug 16. I'm not exactly sure though as I didn't write it down, as we go for 2 weeks each July, so we are sujbect to the upcharge/surcharge for the whole period.

I last talked to a CM about this about 5 weeks ago, but like I said, the prices have been loaded into the computer since December.

All Ears and the other websites probably won't put an actual blurb on their sites until Disney releases an official memo, but according to the past, and what has happened this year thus far, I don't believe any official announcement is coming at all, as Easter already saw surcharge/upcharge, and there was no official announcement.

I think dinner at CP starts at 4:00, so you would be subject to dinner pricew ith upcharge, if it indeed starts on June 1st. I consulted my notes, but I didn't write down the exact dates that it started - sorry!

HTH, Tiger :)

Not to hijak the thread but we have an ADR of 11:35am. Is there a wait/long wait/always a long wait to be seated?

CP usually has a long wait to check-in and a long wait to be seated. You check-in up on the porch, as there is a built-in cubicle there with a CM and the dining computer. Then, you are given a pager, and you can wait up on porch or down below. The pagers actually work almost to the front of the castle, so you can walk around.

CP waits are not as long as Chef Mickey's or 'Ohana, but in the millions of times we've eaten there, we've never been seated before 10-15 mins of actual waiting, that doesn't include our check-in time.

Depends upon how busy the park is too, but expect a short wait for sure, Tiger

Thank you Tiger 926. We were wondering this...every time we've walked by the front, there always seems to be a mass of people. So...now I know:)
