That's so neat :goodvibes You already have your Mickey Mail???? We leave on the 17th & we don't even have ours yet!

We love everything about Capt Cooks...except the yucky flatbread pizzas.

The chicken lo mein or veggie lo mein is awesome, the adult grilled cheese is amazing and I am totally in love with the BBQ pork sandwich with housemade chips!

I would def go out of my way to have lunch here.

What was bad at CC? Don't wanna waste any credits on yucky food :upsidedow

Everybody's tastes are different, so if you want to try something, don't let my opinion change your mind! :) Plus, maybe we hit it on a bad week or something. Our last 4 trips before the Poly had been at WL and AKL, and to us it just didn't measure up at all to Roarin Forks or Mara. We also didn't care for the computer ordering system, as you didn't have a CM to ask any questions before your order was already placed (such as is there any way to get a single burger instead of one with double meat ).

We do counter service breakfast every morning except for our AK day (Tusker House is one of my favorites!) as DD is not a morning person and a pre park opening TS doesn't work for her. Before we got to the Poly, I was all excited about the Tonga toast. I couldn't wait. DH and I had that same thing (not called Tonga toast) at a non-Disney hotel we stayed on vacation and we were excited to have it again because it was wonderful. Unfortunately, the version we got at the Poly was practically inedible. It tasted like cardboard. The bread was too thick and I think maybe burnt. You could hardly even taste the filling and the Bananas they used were clearly way overripe. It was what I was most excited for at the Poly, and I couldn't get more than 2 bites down. The texture was hard to even chew. DH dubbed it "nasty". DD (then 3) would not eat their children's French toast either which is highly unusual for her. (maybe they were having a bad bread week?) We also found the selection of pastries for breakfast much more limited than at the WL or AKL. At WL, DH and I usually had chocolate crossiants for breakfast most mornings (our traditional vacation breakfast splurge pretty much wherever we go if we can find them), and the Poly does not carry them. DD usually has pancakes each morning at WL. I'm trying to remember whether they didn't have them at the Poly, or what the issue was there. I remember having to get her snacks before lunch.

We also ate 2 non-breakfast meals there. The first, I got the stir fry noodles and DH got the Turkey Sandwich. He complained the Turkey Sandwich was dry. I wasn't impressed with the noodles.

After we finally figured out from another guest that you can get a single burger (as opposed to a double) from the side item menu, we tried those for the last meal. The burgers actually weren't bad (if you don't mind their wheat buns, which we don't). DD doesn't normally eat burgers, but she ate it and liked it.

I DREAM about the Aloha Pork Sandwich there, and count the days until my next trip when I can have one again! If I'm not staying there, I always make a special trip over to the Poly at least once during my stay to have one. It is awesome! You can get it with chips or coleslaw. My DP and I usually get one sandwich, coleslaw instead of chips, and an order of fries... and we split everything. It ends up being just the right amount of food for a lunch (especially when paired with a dole whip... we each get our own... there would be fights otherwise... :rotfl: )

I've tasted the noodles once, and they are pretty good also, and I'd get them if I could ever stop myself from getting the pork (not gonna happen... LOL). But I go there for the pork sandwich and dole whips!! Yummy!

Now I want one.... :guilty: 5 weeks! :dance3:

We love CC's!! I've had the Pork sandwich and the flatbreads (both pepperoni and Hawaiin) - all awesome. The regular turkey sandwich was good too. Looking forward to trying the Noodles in March!

Can I ask when you went? In 2007 and 2009 I had a chocolate CHIP crossiant nearly every day from CC's. They were DIVINE! Best ones on property because they had a glaze on them and the slightly melted chocolate chips were throughout the entire thing. Sooooooooo good. I really hope they haven't gotten rid of them!! They were in the pastry case.

Those sound like the WL's! I agree, they are DIVINE! We stayed at the Poly December 2009. I checked on the boards before going to see if the Poly had them because they are our WDW breakfast staple, and some Disers with recent stays told me they did not- someone had even taken a picture of the pastry case! The Disers were right (of course). When we got there they did not have them. DH asked a CM if they were out or if they just did not carry them, and they told him some of the other resorts have them, but they don't carry them. I'm pretty sure the CM was telling the truth, because DH examined that pastry case in depth every morning the whole week just to be sure they didn't magically appear. Allears.net shows them on CC's menu, so maybe they have reappeared? Since our next stay is going to be at the Poly again, I sure hope so!!! I'm not going to get my hopes up though. That will just be a Disney magic bonus if they are there!

We just stayed there a couple of weeks ago. I thought that Capt. Cooks was decent. Not the best food we had on our vacation, but we ate there lots since we have little kids and it was easy. Breakfast was good...big Mickey Mouse waffles were the hit. Enough for kids to share. The other food was good. I happened to love the flatbreads as did our sons. One night they got a flatbread off of my dining plan and I ate chicken nuggets from theirs! My husband liked the pork sandwich, and the chips where a nice change to the ordinary stuff!

I would definitely recommend a breakfast at Ohana. It was the best breakfast that we've ever had at WDW. The characters had just past our table when we got there, so usually that means a long wait before they come again. But they all doubled back to see us before our meal arrived, so we got pictures before the boys ended up with syrup dribbling down their clothes! And the food was GOOD! It is family style, but you can get more of what you want. I really enjoyed this breakfast, and it along with Coral Reef were the best meals at the World for us!!

I sure hope they're back too - or I'll have to go over to the WL to pick them up!! We were there in May 2009, so before you. We're headed back next March.

We had it several times this past week and loved it. Between the 5 of us we tried and liked most everything.

So fill me in what is so special about the adult grilled cheese? Are there a variety of cheeses?
