We are going down in Dec. My DH stayed in Dixie Landings back in 96 and he loved Boatwrights. We have not been back there since. We are staying at PORS and would like to know if is worth a TS credit for dinner and if I should make an ADR? Would love to suprise him. He still talks about the ribs:rotfl2:

Thanks!

Anybody? We're eating here in Sept. for the first time before we go to PI.

Sorry...we didn't like it. It was the worse meal we have ever had at Disney. We ate there last September on our last night. We waited 45 minutes for our ADR; the service was unfriendly and almost non-existent; and the food was terrible...the steaks were bland and fatty and my DH hated the potatos. I know people have indicated the menu has changed over the last year or so. Others like it, others have also hated it (there was a review a couple of weeks ago). We do hear the breakfast is very good.

That review a couple of weeks ago may have been mine - I think I titled it "Boatwrights is BoatWRONGS!" The service was horrible! The food was even worse. We just popped in with no ADR and even though the restaurant was nearly empty (should have been our first sign!) they still made us wait 15 minutes for a table. I would avoid this like the plague (yes, it really was that bad!).

We've only been for breakfast. The sweet potato pancakes are amazing.
It is a must do breakfast for my family.

We had a relaxing dinner here in Nov. Boatwright's isn't bad if you're staying at POR or POFQ but I wouldn't make a special trip to get here. The food wasn't bad, not fantastic but not bad. My dessert was really good. The worst thing about this place was the service. The waiter was decent, but not very friendly at all. We didn't have to wait for our ADR but the service was very, very slow (and we were there at 5:00, the place was practically empty). Not my best Disney dining experience but by no means the worst. I would eat here again if I was staying at POR.

For anyone w/ kids, if you get the first dining ressie, they will let a child "open" the restaurant for dinner. They have a little ceremony, the child rings the dinner bell and gets a certificate. We saw this and thought it was really cute. :)

I agree with pp. Unless you are staying at POR I wouldn't bother. Not enough atmosphere in restaurant itself.
Just there mid April, stayed on-site, my parents loved it. Said the steak was better than La Cellier and Coral Reef.

The breakfast is the best meal. Dinner is ok and we have eaten there 2 times for dinner, but nothing special. If you want to relax at the Hotel then it is fine for that.
